ATEC is looking for a Technical Specialist in providing computer setup, software development, and/or network support. This person will be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong work ethic and a self-starter. Ability to act independently to expose and resolve problems. Excellent communication skills in English in written and spoken form, including the ability to develop analytical documents. Must be familiar with networks, routers, switches, and associated cabling.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Must be familiar with networks, routers, switches, and associated cabling.
• Provide expertise in real-time installation, testing, setup, and configuring of automation systems and/or related hardware.
• Provide routine maintenance, performance checks, and record keeping.
• Ascertain user requirements, perform analysis and exhibit an understanding of the requirements and a responsive approach to the customer, and satisfy the customer requirements.
• Complete testing of system engineering changes/modifications and possess the ability to complete the supporting documentation.
• Red Hat Linux knowledge is strongly desired.
• Familiarity with Cisco networking equipment and HPE networking equipment

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Perform system and subsystem testing of hardware and firmware/software testing efforts as required.
• Highly dedicated Technical Specialist with extensive computer experience (i.e., hardware, software, and network experience).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

• Good customer relations skills.
• Knowledge of client-server architecture, switches, routers, and rack-mounted equipment.
• Devises appropriate tests to use in evaluating, debugging, and checking of equipment and systems for accurate and dependable conformance to specifications.
• Works under direct supervision, guidelines, and objectives.

EDUCATION/YEARS of EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED required and one (1) to six (6) years of related experience.
• An Associate’s Degree in a related field will be accepted in lieu of two (2) years of experience.
• A Bachelor's Degree in a related field will be accepted in lieu of four (4) years of experience.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

• US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US
• Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation
• Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Work location is the William J. Hughes Technical Center, Atlantic City Airport, New Jersey with extensive travel requirements to location throughout the US. (2 weeks per month).

PAY RANGE:

• $30K – $50K (based on yrs of exp)
