Engineer in Training, E.I.T
ROLE STATEMENT:
The Engineer in Training will be a member of the Technical Services Department responsible for progressing through an advanced 12 to 24 month training program in the field, lab and divisional head office. The Engineer in Training will focus on gaining firsthand experience to all areas of our business while growing technical and operational understanding of hydraulic fracturing, coiled tubing and nitrogen operations if applicable.

EIT program consists of five main phases:
Phase 1 – Introduction and Orientation. The EIT will attend Calfrac’s OaTS (Orientation and Training School) for 2 weeks.
Phase 2 – Fracturing. Phase 2 will require the EIT to work within the District Fracturing Department. Here they will carry out equipment training on a crew designated by the District Engineer to get an understanding of the equipment on location. Gradually, the EIT will shift his/her focus to the data van where senior on-site personnel coordinate the execution of each job.
Phase 3 – Coiled Tubing and Cementing. If relevant to the District location, the EIT will learn about the daily operations, limitations, capabilities and procedures utilized in these service lines.
Phase 4 – Laboratory Services. In both the Divisional and District laboratories, the EIT will gain an in-depth understanding of Calfrac’s fracturing fluid and cement systems (if applicable). Laboratory procedures, testing and equipment will be a primary focus.
Phase 5 – Technical Services. The EIT will interface with the District and Divisional Technical Services teams to understand their duties and assist the Field Engineers in daily job execution.
SCHEDULE:
- Fifteen (15) days on, Six (6) days off, rotate between night shift and day shift after days off
- Open to local candidates

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 4 year science degree; Engineering (Petroleum, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical) degree preferred
- Experience in the oilfield services sector is considered an asset but not required
Previous experience as an operator coiled tubing, rig, oilfield, oil & gas, Oil and gas, energy, energy services, driving tractor trailers, well services, logging and forestry, drilling wells, pump chemicals, laborer, operate chem van, mixing and pumping fluids, heavy equipment experience, is an asset.
