Requisition Summary

The Kenworth Engine Integration department is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to manage and lead a team of design engineers responsible for implementing new engine installation designs and responding to requests from manufacturing, service, and other key customers. Ideal candidates will have a strong leadership background in managing a design group to meet department and organizational goals.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a high performing functional team, which includes supervising, personnel development, team building, proportioning workload, and design approval.
  • Manage engine installation system projects from inception through completion.
  • Work within a phase-gate product creation process to manage projects, measure progress, and govern use of Six Sigma tools and deliverables.
  • Track all aspects of projects including budget, costs, schedule, and validation.
  • Ensure the use of quality tools (e.g. DFSS tools) and instill design best practices.
  • Manage team performance in engineering operational metrics, regulation changes, production support, field service, and customer option approval requests
  • Work with the PACCAR Technical Center to validate the team’s designs.


Qualifications

  • BSME or equivalent engineering degree required; relevant Master’s degree and PE license preferred.
  • 5-7 years of design experience; previous supervisory and/or lead experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management methods and tools, PMP certification or other project management training desired
  • Self-directed with excellent analysis and engineering judgment.
  • PACCAR/manufacturing plant experience desirable.
  • Overall product knowledge required; engine and related systems experience is preferred.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to effectively communicate up, down, and across organizations.
  • Ability to provide group leadership and management of human resource issues.
  • Can build a sense of team and be accountable for team dynamics.
  • Recognizes and demonstrates the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Ability to travel, domestically and internationally, up to 15%. Typical trips include support project truck builds at PACCAR manufacturing plants, collaborate with other PACCAR locations, visit supplier partners, and customer visits.

The salary range for Engine Installation Supervisor is $89,900 - $140,600 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
