EMG Tech Job at The Spine and Orthopedic Center
Busy orthopedic practice has an immediate, full-time opening for an experienced in-house EMG tech. Position:
· Performs nerve conduction studies on patients, maintains equipment and supplies, and assists during procedures under the supervision of the physician.
· Performs nerve conduction studies on patients following the guidelines and procedures of The American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists under the supervision of PM&R/Neuro physicians.
· Performs nerve conduction studies on both common and uncommon nerves.
· Performs Nerve conduction studies independently in routine settings under the direct supervision of physicians.
· Cleans, replenishes, maintains and assures availability of instruments and supplies needed for studies.
· Assists physician as needed during the needle examination and sets up for this procedure.
Additionally, position will help with scribing and front/back office duties, including answering phones, scheduling and confirming appointments, distributing and assisting patients with paperwork, fielding calls from attorneys and outside practices, rooming patients, fielding authorization calls, collecting labs, calling in and distributing medications, preparing charts, and otherwise assisting providers with the flow of patients through the office.
Applicant must have exceptional organizational skills, excellent computer skills and be ready to work in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining great attention to detail. The applicant must also be reliable and punctual, have good communication skills, and a willingness to learn. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Driver’s license and clean driving record required, as well as willingness to travel weekly to clinics located in Santa Barbara, Oxnard, and Santa Maria (mileage reimbursement offered). One year of experience as an EMG tech within the last five years preferred, or must have an EKG certification obtained within the last five years.
This position offers great pay with excellent benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, paid holidays, and vacation/sick time. $25-$35/hour, depending on experience. Please submit resume for consideration.
