Qualifications: Proper Connecticut teaching certification (Elementary Education) preferred. In-depth knowledge and understanding of teaching reading at the primary level. The successful candidate will be a member of a dedicated team who can work within a tight schedule, remain highly organized, and successfully teach individuals and small groups very specific strategies to address identified areas of weakness. Experience in the area of reading and mathematics remediation are preferred skills.
Responsibilities: To provide assistance to students under the direction of a certified teacher including: small group instruction, behavior management, data collection, lesson prep, and co-teaching.
Terms of Employment: 35 hours a week as determined by building principal exclusive of a 30-minute unpaid lunch; $20.00 per hour. No employee benefits are associated with this position.
