POSITION: Certified Elementary Teacher

Responsibilities

  • Design and follow a full schedule of activities and discover suitable teaching material
  • Balance your teaching between logical and social exercises
  • Develop, write and implement weekly lesson plans in accordance to developmentally appropriate content and school guidelines for the following Specials: Music Education, Physical Education and STEM
  • Assist with creating and implementing an Elementary Instrumental Program for Beginners
  • Collaborate with early childhood campus to facilitate and co-develop bi-annual musical programs and graduation ceremonies.
  • Provide constant supervision, basic care and caregiving activities
  • Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc) to enhance the child’s abilities
  • Mentor Teachers and Assistant Teachers in school curriculum and classroom behavior/management techniques.
  • Evaluate children’s performance to ensure they are on the right learning track
  • Remain in communication with parents and update them on the progress of their children
  • Observe children’s interactions and promote the spirit of concord
  • Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action
  • Collaborate with other colleagues and administration, maintaining a spirit of open and respectful communication
  • Adhere to teaching standards, state licensing requirements and school policies and procedures
  • Prepare meals and oversee meal time
  • Assist with student hygiene needs and skills
  • Regularly sanitize surfaces and toys to promote a clean learning environment and minimize exposure to illnesses.
  • Ability to utilize first aid skills and CPR.
  • Maintain annual professional training requirements.
  • Willingness to serve in any classroom space or in any school capacity when asked and needed by administration.
  • Attend all required school related events outside of normal shift hours
  • Attend all required faculty meetings
  • Safeguard student and faculty confidentiality
  • Other duties as assigned for the benefit and progress of the school

Skills

  • Proven experience as an early childhood/elementary teacher preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education method
  • Methodical and creative
  • Patience, flexibility and love for children
  • Ability to maintain composure and body language when stressed/overwhelmed
  • Ability to speak to students in a encouraging tones, words and refrain from yelling
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Certificate in First Aid and CPR (Training available)
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Must be able to pass an annual drug test
  • Clear Criminal Background Request as defined by for Oklahoma and Additional States (if required)
  • Must maintain annual training
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to stoop, squat, sit, stand, bend, kneel, reach, hold for maintained period of time to interact with students on their level.
  • Answer phones, emails, utilize apps
  • Ability to use word processing software, navigate the internet, Google Suite
  • Proficient communication verbally and written
  • Attention to detail
  • Complete required tasks by specific deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,626.59 - $50,851.31 per year
