Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. ● Demonstrated proficiency with Common Core State Standards ● Demonstrated successful experience in implementing adopted curriculum ● Demonstrated successful experience in curriculum integration ● Demonstrated evidence of classroom management skills ● Ability to effectively integrate technology in daily lessons and use multiple communication systems ● Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and work with students, parents, staff, and community in an effective and positive manner ● Professionally interact with students, staff, and members of the public. ● Establish professional and ongoing contacts with students ● Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, Board Policies, and the Code of Professional Conduct ● Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities ● Document provision of services related to an IEP and 504 plans ● Enlist the assistance of counselors, administration, and other support personnel where appropriate ● Provide lesson plans for substitute teacher ● Participate in extra-curricular responsibilities as necessary ● Expectations: The teacher communicates high expectations for student learning and evaluates individual student progress regularly while maintaining records for report cards and/or parent conferences. ● Instruction: The teacher uses research-based instructional practices to meet the needs of all students. Effective and rigorous lessons are developed to meet objectives and engage students. Provide clear directions while providing reasonable and appropriate assignments. ● Differentiation: The teacher acquires and uses specific knowledge about students’ cultural, individual, intellectual, and social development and uses that knowledge to adjust their practice by employing strategies that advance student learning. ● Content Knowledge: The teacher uses content area knowledge, learning standards, appropriate pedagogy, and resources to design and deliver curricula and instruction to impact student learning. ● Learning Environment: The teacher fosters and manages a safe and inclusive learning environment that takes into account: physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being. Encourages students to develop courtesy, self-control, respect, and responsibility. Establishes Fife School District Teacher 1 clear parameters for student behavior in the classroom and disciplines students in a firm and controlled manner. ● Assessment: The teacher uses multiple data elements (both formative and summative) to plan, inform and adjust instruction and evaluate student learning. ● Families and Community: The teacher communicates and collaborates with students, families and all educational stakeholders in an ethical and professional manner to promote student learning. ● Professional Practice: The teacher participates collaboratively in the educational community to improve instruction, advance the knowledge and practice of teaching as a profession, and ultimately impact student learning. ● Perform such classroom teaching and other duties related to the school program as may be assigned from time to time by the Principal or designee. ● Desired teacher characteristics include: flexibility, creativity, organization, ability to project enthusiasm and express ideas clearly, good classroom management skills, ability to use a variety of current instructional strategies, and a willingness to model behavior appropriate to the school district and community
