Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Proficiently interpret blueprints, manufacturers’ specifications and written/verbal instructions.
  • Assist in the establishment and on-time execution of preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems and facilities.
  • Maintain automation infrastructure including, but not limited to, PLC’s, Batch, & HMI’s.
  • Manage projects and changes to validated systems through change management system.
  • Oversee the implementation of new automation and controls.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical problems of equipment or throughout the facility.
  • Prepare reports and analyses indicating work progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
  • Meet all deadline and project requirements including budget.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance and production to properly schedule tasks that need to be completed.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards off all work performed ensure all products shipped to the customer are in-spec.
  • Handle all equipment safely at all times.
  • Assist with management of commissioning, IQ (installation qualification),OQ (operation qualification), PQ (performance qualification) of major capital projects.
  • Conduct internal audits as assigned.
  • Provide support to investigations of process-related issues (deviations, spoilage, incorrect batching, etc.).
  • Assist with production-related issues as they pertain to automation after hours (on-call).
  • Manage and provide security for production-related databases.
  • Assist with continuous improvement endeavors through execution of strategic plan.
  • Comply with all safety programs (LOTO, permitting, PPE, etc.) 100% of the time.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • This position requires the ability to work with dairy and nut products in addition to other related ingredients and allergens.
  • Safety Protocol
    • Stop any observed unsafe acts, and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
    • Support safety policies and programs.

Qualifications:
Education Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of formal technical training required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Experience Required:
  • Minimum five (5) years of journeyman’s experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures from blueprints, schematics and sketches.
  • Experience/knowledge in the principles of electricity and electrical design required.
  • Work experience in manufacturing plant required.
  • Experience in a food &/or fluid dairy manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong programming experience with Rockwell Software including but not limited to RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, and FactoryTalk SE required.
  • Experience with FactoryTalk Batch preferred.
Certification/Licensure Required:
  • State electrician licensure Journeyman or above required.
  • Electrical lift certification as appropriate.

  • Demonstrate functional and technical knowledge, ability to learn new skills quickly, and achieve a high level of accomplishment.
  • Basic math plus fractions, decimals and percentages, as well as algebraic calculations.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook and field-specific software.
  • Follow written, verbal and/or diagrammatic instructions; solve practical problems; interpret verbal and written instructions; logical thinking to solve problems including abstract and concrete variables; address practical problems and comprehend most complex concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.
