RLF is currently seeking a full-time Electrical Designer 3 to report directly to our Director of Electrical Engineering. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and have a solid foundational knowledge of methods, practices, and programs that relate to electrical engineering. Job Summary:
The Electrical Designer will collaborate with internal team members during all phases of the design delivery process and will require the candidate to generate quality production documents with supervision from a Senior Designer or Registered Engineer.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard engineering techniques for small projects or selected segments of a larger project.
  • Prepares detailed drawings of engineering designs and plans for buildings and structures.
  • Consults with senior engineers or designers concerning unusual problems and developments.
  • Creates design layouts, which require researching, compiling, and recording information for assigned project work.
  • Assists engineering team members in providing engineering consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of projects.
  • Assists in field investigation as required to validate existing site and building conditions.
  • Completes engineering related activities throughout all phases of the design delivery process including but not limited to reviewing shop drawings, responding to requests for information (RFIs), and conducting site observation during the construction administration phase of the project.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience.
  • Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Healthcare project experience; specifically AHCA experience.
  • Department of Defense experience.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to listen and speak. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer with repetitive finger, hand, and wrist movements required. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times. Additionally, this position will require site visits to active and completed construction sites, so there will be a need to walk uneven terrain and have visual and auditable awareness of site risks during active construction. This position will require occasional travel to attend client meetings and conduct site visits, so the ability to travel for prolonged periods via car, airplane, and potentially other modes of mass transportation will be required.
