SUPERVISES: Warehouse/Shipping/Order Fulfillment Supervisors

Summary: The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful operations of various departments including Warehouse, Shipping, Maintenance and Order Fulfillment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Plans and directs all operations activities to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Works closely with VP of Marketing/Outside Sales on planning to maximize DTC performance.
  • Works closely with Director of Planning/Purchasing to ensure the right product is at the right place at the right time.
  • Works closely with Human Resources to ensure facility is staffed, trained, retention, and all policies are followed.
  • Manages the Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Control, and Order Fulfillment supervisor teams, establishes priorities, and provides guidance in interpreting plans, practices, standards, and departmental procedures.
  • Analyze and develop budget and cost controls for all respective departments.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective operating methods and systems to eliminate problems, improve quality, ensure safe workplace practices, and strengthen the organization.
  • Provide overall guidance and support on safety issues
  • Determine the number of positions and qualifications required for Operations departments and activities and the training required for employees to perform competently and safely.
  • Provide ongoing training/development and guidance to operations personnel in all functions of their jobs. Set goals, give encouragement, and follow up to ensure results.
  • Responsible for OSHA and other regulatory compliance for facility.
  • Forecast and plan for space and equipment requirements for administrative needs
  • Manages special projects as needed
  • Review and propose process and technical changes to improve efficiencies in Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Control and Order Fulfillment.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, equipment and space utilization to fulfill production.
  • Provides excellent service to all internal and external customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience with an additional 5 years of management responsibility.
  • Strong systems knowledge especially with inventory, accounting, order fulfillment systems, and POS systems.
  • Strong math aptitude; able to calculate and interpret statistics; proficient in the use of logistics/distribution modeling.
  • Ability to be flexible and change direction often.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and independent thinking.
  • Ability to motivate self and others.
  • Ability to work effectively with people.
  • Strong organizational, leadership and time management skills.
  • Able to communicate and delegate tasks clearly.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Standing for long periods of time, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, carrying and moving items up to 45lbs.
  • Performing repetitive motions throughout shift.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions in an environment with varied noise levels.
  • The warehouse environment may be dusty, noisy, and open to interior temperature changes.
  • The use of appropriate PPEincluding eye and ear protection, and rubber gloves as needed for comfort.
  • Must be able to abide by the companys Exposure Prevention, Preparedness, and Response guidelines as it relates to the spread of communicable diseases, and workplace safety; this includes use of masks (as needed and required per CDC and Company recommendations) and the ability to use cleaning supplies for cleaning and disinfection purposes.
