EH&S Manager Job at Cornell Cookson
Manage all aspects of a Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance Program to ensure safe operations in a manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing all environmental and permitting related to air, storm water, spill prevention, Tier II and chemical waste program compliance.
- Implementing environmental, health and safety education and training to support regulatory and business requirementsDeveloping and implement safety and health policies, practices and procedures in compliance with governmental regulations including Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations including, but not limited to, OSHA.
- Performing site audits and lead efforts with management teams to implement corrective actions used to collaborate with site leaders to implement change aimed at reducing and preventing accidents.Developing and coordinate internal and external emergency services for injured or ill employees.
- Investigating all accidents and near misses to ensure root cause, containment and corrective actions are completed, while effectively manage workers compensation claims and the associated return to work program.
- Conducting trend analysis and reports using key metrics (TRIR, DACR) in an effort to drive reduction of injury & illness rates.
- Creating and manage risk assessments, including but not limited to machine guarding, ergonomic, and personal protective equipment assessments.
- Conducting meetings, recommend and provide safety training aids, to keep site leaders apprised of hazardous conditions and practices, while utilizing a behavior based safety system.
- Providing expertise to ensure Company compliance with mandatory Federal and State regulations and insurance requirements.
- Performing monthly inspections of the organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows-up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Completing other duties as assigned in support of Company objectives.
Requirements
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
* A minimum of 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
* A strong working knowledge of safety requirements and OSHA related laws.
* Demonstrated judgment and decision making, as well as the capability to take projects from the conceptual stage to completion.
