Position Summary:
The Drafting team is an integral part of the Fairway Architectural Railing Solution (Fairway) team and will work with an unwavering commitment to the Company’s core values; honesty and integrity, compliance, safety, quality, execution, and profitability. Reporting to the Director of Pre-Construction, a Drafter I, II, or III will be part of the team that is responsible for creating submittals, fabrication drawings, material lists, and work instructions for the Company’s awarded railing projects. The level I, II, III is determined by the qualifications, complexity, and experience of the Drafter performing the tasks in the department. In this role, the Drafter will play an integral role in ensuring the Company’s Core Values are recognized in the actions of anyone representing or performing work on behalf of the Company. This position is located at the Fairway Architectural Railing Solutions Clocktower location in New Jersey and is an in-office position.
SupervisoryResponsibilities:
· There are no supervisory responsibilities for the Drafter I, II, III position.
Other Duties:
· Review field measurements and use appropriate CAD Software to produce shop drawings that are consistent with department standards.
· Work closely with Project Managers and Field Foremen to determine the direction of the project and address concerns as the design and project progresses.
· Prepare final project drawings and obtain drawing approvals from the Project Managers and Field Foremen.
· Produce shipping lists and material sheets using the TAPPER system.
· Produce shop copies, manufacturing work instructions, and other documents to facilitate production.
· Electronically store project documents and upload to Smartsheets in accordance with the Company’s document retention policies.
· Clean and/or arrange CAD drawings for use in submittal of record drawings.
· Always work safely and in a fashion that exhibits the Company’s core values.
· Other duties that may or may not relate to the duties assigned specifically to the Drafter I, II, III role.
Required Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent; advanced technical training or course work related to the tasks is preferred but not required.
· Three (3) years of experience using AutoCAD 2010 or greater.
· Certificate or course work in related field is preferred.
· Should have a working knowledge of computers and other communication and technical devices; should be familiar with project management systems and the Microsoft office suite.
· Must be able to work with minimal supervision, meet or exceed deadlines, and stay on task.
· Must have strong time management skills and be able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
· Must be detail oriented, focused, and committed to producing quality, error-free work.
· Must have good communication skills and have the ability to work and collaborate with other team members.
· Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints, work orders, and other instructions.
· Should have a good understanding of angles and degrees.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
· Be able to demonstrate basic math and have the ability to accurately complete computations.
· Physical demands of the position require the Drafter to sit and use their hands and fingers to type, handle objects, and feel; occasionally the Drafter is required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb and balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
· Cannot be visually impaired; must be able to see both close and long distance; must be able to visually interact with a computer screen for most of the workday.
· The position is office based and the noise level is low.
· The position requires occasional interaction with the production areas and employees where PPE is required and must be used in accordance with the Company’s safety policies and expectations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.30 - $33.60 per hour
