The primary responsibility of this position is to route traffic truck operations. A purpose is to insure consistency in policy and practices pertaining to company deliveries. An additional purpose is to purchase company vehicles and make sure they are maintained properly.

Essential Position Functions:

• Oversee primary traffic activities including purchasing, registering and maintaining truck fleet.
• Ability to route Steiner truck deliveries and use Steiner routing system.
• Understand the Chicago Metropolitan area.
• Route 3rd party contract drivers.
• Safety; equipment maintenance and employee practices.
• Scheduling.
• Record keeping.
• Compliance with ISO Procedures and Steiner Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensure understanding and compliance of all company policies including warehouse work rules, equal opportunity, drug and alcohol and harassment policies.
• Properly use Steiner computer system
• Use Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficiency with email and phone system.
• Facility cleanliness and maintenance

Position Requirements: Education, Knowledge, Training, Experience, Licenses, Certification

• 2-3 years transportation experience including overseeing a route driver operation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of available equipment
• Prior experience working with a computerized system.
• Ability to learn to use Steiner’s computer systems
• Fluent English – verbal and written
• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions of this Position:

• Stand on concrete surface for extended length of time.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds including large bulky items.
• Bending and twisting motions required.
• Pushing and pulling fully loaded manual pallet jacks, and carts.
