THE ROLE
We seek a Director of AmeriCorps Partnerships to join the Public Partnerships team in developing the internal relationships, systems, tools, and resources to effectively secure and manage AmeriCorps grants. You will help maximize benefits to AmeriCorps members and Teach For America by serving as a subject matter expert and project manager of our grant application processes; by driving culture and community building with the TFA-AmeriCorps community; by coaching regional staff on AmeriCorps matters; and by project-managing cross-functional priorities and work.
You have a passion for motivating others to achieve at high levels, leveraging excellent communication skills; a focus on clear, measurable outcomes; and excellent judgment. You understand that developing and managing complex systems at scale requires relationships and a deep understanding of how the organization operates. ABOUT AMERICORPS
AmeriCorps is a federal agency established to encourage and enable Americans to give back to their communities and nation. Teach For America secures AmeriCorps funding (organizational operating dollars and the benefits our corps members receive from membership-the education award, loan forbearance, and payment of interest accrued) annually in order to increase the diversity of our corps by decreasing the financial barriers of participation in our program. Additionally, we seek to diversify both our national and regional funding portfolios by ensuring government investment in our work. This partnership with AmeriCorps is mission critical, providing Teach For America with approximately $30M in resources annually.
THE PERSON
Regional Support and Coaching (45%)
  • Manage a portfolio of 10+ regions to follow all AmeriCorps requirements by acting as a strategic thought-partner, coach, and in-house AmeriCorps expert.
  • Drive strategy on resource creation to facilitate regional AmeriCorps manager learning and work.
AmeriCorps Grant Writing (20%)
  • Advise and execute on funding strategy; serve as subject matter expert on grant application requirements.
  • Ensure high-quality AmeriCorps grants are submitted on time by project-managing application components, drafting portions of grant applications, and liaising with other functional teams who contribute to the applications.
Culture of Impact for TFA’s AmeriCorps Community (20%)
  • Further develop a strong AmeriCorps manager community and manage team-wide communications, protocols (i.e., portfolio management) and other structures to align to the vision for the TFA-AmeriCorps community.
  • Lead regional resource creation and develop vision for AmeriCorps Days of Service and other ad hoc events and opportunities.
Project-manage Cross-Functional Priorities and Work (10%)
  • As they arise, support projects like integrating new branding and logo requirements into TFA materials or project-managing grant evaluation requirements with the Learning Team and regions.
Organizational Stewardship & Collective Responsibility (5%)
  • Represent the ACPT internally, and Teach For America externally, at conferences, trainings, and other events.
  • Participate in Selection and other enterprise-wide activities.
THE MUST HAVES
  • Prior Experience
    • 5+ years professional experience
    • Prior Teach For America experience highly preferred
    • AmeriCorps/federal grant program implementation and experience preferred
  • Work Demands
    • Some weekend and evening work required
    • Ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities 0-4 times per year

THE HIRING PROCESS

THE TEAM
The AmeriCorps Partnerships Team delivers the consulting, coaching, tools, and resources to regions to support them to successfully secure and manage AmeriCorps grants. Additionally lead our organization’s efforts to work towards 100% grant compliance to ensure full drawdown of AmeriCorps grants, which will position us well to receive future funding.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Tier A: $74,3000 - $111,300
Tier B: $81,000 - $121,300
Tier C: $$87,700 - $131,300
