GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Director provides leadership and direction for all marketing, and operations associated with the Department of Camps and Conference Services (CCS). The individual will be responsible for both internal and external sales, as well as the development of a program that will generate revenues for the University, while providing safe use of our facilities to various audiences.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Develops a comprehensive plan to market and use University facilities for both internal and external groups/organizations that provide additional revenue to the University
  • Work with the VPESS and the CFO to set annual sales goals, campus usage, scheduling, and marketing budgets
  • Develop and implement the marketing/sales strategies in order to achieve revenue goals
  • Responsible for negotiations and creation of all camp and conference contracts
  • Work closely with liaisons in facilities, athletics, student affairs, marketing, and academic affairs
  • Maintains fiscal responsibility for all aspects of the department
  • Hire, supervise and train the student summer conference coordinators
  • Manage all aspects of risk management associated with the program and protection of the University
  • Responsible for customer service training of all operations staff, students, and service providers
  • Developing and maintaining conference and event calendars
  • Oversight of all conference management software
  • Travel as necessary related to the generation of new contracts and community outreach

SECONDARY DUTIES:

  • Ensures the branding and messaging on all marketing and sales initiatives is consistent and targeted
  • Support the overall operation of the division of Enrollment and Student Success
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the VP for Enrollment and Student Success

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • A commitment to enhancing the internal and external customer experience is required
  • Professional presentation and demeanor are required
  • Experience working in higher education environment is desired
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams is necessary
  • The ability to work in a collaborative manner with peers and colleagues is necessary
  • The ability to maintain strict confidentiality and to protect sensitive and private information is necessary
  • The ability to work independently as well as a member of a team and adhere to deadlines is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively contribute as part of a team. Good judgment, tact, diplomacy, and discretion
  • Excellent problem-solving and follow-through skills. Must be dependable, reliable, and flexible
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including early morning, evening and weekends is necessary and expected; extensive summer hours will be necessary
  • Bachelor’s degree required plus two to four years of related experience id preferred
  • Ability to travel on behalf of the University
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Fully vaccinated
