Director of Stop Loss Sales Job at HealthComp, LLC

HealthComp is hiring a Director of Stop Loss Sales who will play a strategic role building and managing relationships with consultants, brokers, and stop loss carriers to increase the profitability and growth of this product line. This position requires a specialized knowledge of group health and stop loss underwriting concepts, practices, procedures, and techniques plus experience with market analysis, product positioning, and networking with industry professionals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes and maintains relationships to facilitate sales of our medical stop loss products from our preferred partners
  • Works with underwriting to review and negotiates policy terms and conditions to help ensure best pricing
  • Contributes to the development of our preferred stop loss partners and pricing
  • Communicates with underwriters and claims analysts in order to provide top level customer service
  • Proactively collaborates with consultants, brokers and stop loss carriers to ensure implementation of our stop loss strategy
  • Collaborates with underwriting management to review more complex cases requiring a higher degree of underwriting authority
  • Performs related duties as requested to include, report preparation, presentations, and special projects to assist in ensuring the success of the stop loss strategy

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 – 10+ years of progressive group health and stop loss underwriting experience. Preferred to have 2-3+ of those years with a large consulting or brokerage firm
  • An understanding of stop loss market dynamics, risk management strategies, and a strong desire to stay ahead of emerging risks in the market
  • Confidence and a developed skillset in the areas of math, communication and negotiation
  • Strong time management skills and self-discipline to effectively manage a large case load volume during peak production cycles
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all operational areas, management and staff to further the company’s mission

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
