Beautifully situated on the renowned Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio, the Hilton Palacio del Rio is seeking an energetic Director of Restaurants & Bars to join our Food & Beverage team that can build and drive culture and deliver exceptional service. Responsible for directing and overseeing the property's Food and Beverage outlets as well as its event space in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Plan and direct the functions of administration of the Food & Beverage department to meet the daily needs of the operation.
- Clearly describe, assign and delegate responsibility and authority for the operation of the various food and beverage subdepartments such as room service, restaurants, bars, banquets, kitchens, stewards, etc.
- Monitor, develop and implement schedules for the operation of all restaurants and bars to achieve profitable results.
- Participate with the chef and restaurant managers in the creation and merchandising of attractive menu designs to drive revenue.
- Implement effective controls of food, beverage and labor costs and monitor the food and beverage budget.
- Review and evaluate the degree of customer satisfaction of the individual outlets, including banquet service. Investigate and resolve food quality and service complaints. Recommend new operating and marketing policies whenever a change in demand, customer dissatisfaction, or a change in competitive environment requires such changes.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures that relate to food and beverage, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Hire, train, supervise, develop, discipline and counsel all food and beverage team members with a goal of building a positive work environment for all.
- Ability to relate to others while leading and directing a team.
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data into operational plan.
- Ability to communicate with the public and other Team Members in a manner that yields positive results.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in food and beverage management; hotel multi-unit supervisory experience preferred.
