Role Overview: Director of Operations - Franchise Food Programs

The Director of Operations - Franchise Food Programs is responsible for leading all branded QSR food service programs to ultimately generate sales and drive financial growth. This Director leads the ongoing implementation, execution, maintenance, and measurement of all elements within the franchise food service category. The Director is also responsible for maintaining operational standards, staffing and people development, food cost, labor goals, P&L ownership, and growing sales & profitability.

Responsibilities:

Ø Serves as an operations leader for our franchise food programs from a corporate director level including new store openings, new program implementation, pricing, new product implementation, and business reviews.

Ø Manages relationships with our Franchise food partners to ensure that brand standards are being met, initiatives are implemented, and that we are eligible for growth.

Ø Responsible for P&L ownership, maintaining hourly and leadership staffing levels to meet sales demands and brand standards for customer service expectations.

Ø Serves as a leader by managing, developing, and mentoring the franchise food service team. Focuses on sharing knowledge and providing the tools necessary to increase growth within the category.

Ø Manages all restaurant expenditures and targets; manages variances and communicates developments in performance and trends to executive leadership. Creates action plans for improvement or continuation of positive performance and results.

Ø Monitors the industry and competitive landscape. Analyzes internal data such as sales, food and labor controls, and pricing. Identifies patterns and market trends to help refine strategies.

Ø Collaborates cross-functionally by developing and maintaining key business relationships with Category Management, Operations, Marketing, Accounting, Business Analysis, and brand partners in order to effectively manage existing, and implement new products, programs, and initiatives.

Ø Manages and is accountable for the financial performance of the area. Analyzes trends and re-evaluate sales, food cost, and labor performance.

Ø Represents the branded food program in various cross-functional meetings and manages various ad-hoc special projects for the category as necessary.

Ø Stays up to date with all legislation, regulation changes, and requirements that may affect a product or service in our geographies.

Ø Works with executive leadership to create cost reduction strategies and savings plan.

Ø Role can be based in our corporate headquarters in metro Charleston, South Carolina and remote candidates will be considered for this role also (Metro Atlanta, Charlotte, and Memphis areas are preferred) based on our field operations locations.

Ø Role will report to the VP of Foodservice.

Qualifications:

Ø Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field.

Ø 5-7 years' experience in multi-unit food service operations, preferably in multiple brands. Must be able to travel up to 70% within our current field operations markets (SC, NC, MS, AR, and TX).

Ø Knowledge of operations within restaurant foodservice.

Ø Experience of food safety, menu labeling and FDA guidelines preferred.

Ø Understanding of the retail customer a must within a foodservice channel.

Ø Franchise Food Program and Brand Management experience preferred.

Ø Effective project management and decision-making skills. Experience managing organization change to deliver planned results to all stakeholders preferred.

Ø Experience with MS Office Suite, intermediate to advanced Excel preferred.

Ø Proven track record of building a team, creating people/succession plans, growing talent, and developing field structure.

Ø Strong accounting skills and ability to interpret complex financial data preferred.

Ø Experience managing others is required, along with leading through others.

Ø Proven successful track record of executing plans for goal achievement and hitting desired targets to win.
