Job Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Operations is responsible for managing the clinical program at The Treatment Program
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations
- Works under the direction of the CEO to help grow the business, monitor and implement strategies to improve related Average Daily Revenue (ADR), Average Daily Census (ADC), Length of Stay, and Contribution Margin
- Leads efforts to ensure facility’s strategic initiatives are carried out through good practices and by meeting objectives
- Implements strategies to monitor and improve quality of care, patient safety, and patient/referral satisfaction
- Co-leads the local development and implementation of the purpose, vision, and mission of The Treatment Program including the assurance of safety and clinical excellence, an unwavering service culture, and strong financial results
- Works under the direction of the CEO to prepare annual budget and execution of operating business plan
- Works with Intake and finance staff to ensure that patient census, treatment’s revenue meets the monthly revenue goals.
- Facilitates development of long-term strategic plans, management structure, and objectives for facility management.
- Responsible for the company’s grounds, buildings and equipment to ensure that a workspace is safe and functional. Their duties include negotiating contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations and coordinating renovations and updates.
- Resolves problems related to staffing, employee culture, and accountability to The Treatment Program’s mission
- Analyzes, recommends and supports practices seeking to improve performance on quality measures to engage in work redesign, changes in organization systems, policies and procedures, and quality improvement process within the organization
- Supports partnership and communication with The Treatment Program Admissions and Business Development team to ensure admission and transition processes are managed effectively and accurately
- From application to completion, obtain all facility licenses.
QA/QI Duties
- Prepare, update and complete regulatory and compliance documents as requested.
- Participate in weekly QA meetings, present reports and plans to improve quality.
- Conduct daily, weekly chart reviews, develop and implement process improvement plans to improve documentation throughout the organization.
- Maintain databases that track Critical Incidents, reports, and client grievances, director reports and other to identify areas needing improvement.
- Assist with tracking, analyzing and improving assigned key performance indicators in collaboration with CEO.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and federal, state, and local government regulations.
- Maintains and disseminates documentation and reports pertaining to quality and compliance issues, procedures, processes and methodologies.
- Leads QI initiatives utilizing QI processes and assists health facility teams in developing appropriate tracking metrics to monitor performance to ensure compliance with the center’s QM Plan.
- Responsible for the Quality Assurance (QA) chart review check list and conducts QA activities.
Clinical Duties
- Performs direct supervision through use of performance competency process and scheduled supervision
- Oversight of treatment program changes and developments, meets and confers with clinical team, utilization review, practitioners, and standing committees to formulate treatment policies and management of resources
- Ensures continuous survey readiness and compliance to accreditation standards and requirements, federal, state, and local certifying, and licensure bodies
- Responsible for planning of clinical services, competent programming, and risk management issues
- Supports CEO with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings as scheduled or required
- Leads and completes special projects as directed by the CEO
- On-call after hours for any programming and clinical emergencies
- Responsible for Clinical Operations in the absence of the Clinical Director.
Personnel
- Responsible for supervision of staff including determining staffing requirements.
- Participates in the recruitment and retention of professional and nonprofessional staff
- Responsible for conducting employee performance evaluations in a timely manner; addressing and resolving employee related issues; coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff in accordance with the HR policies and procedures. Establish and maintain a highly functional corporate organization by ensuring that managerial staff are properly trained and developed to operate the organization.
- Keep reporting managers informed of all relevant information, policies/procedures and controls that will allow them to operate with maximum efficiency and keep channels of communication open while maintaining confidential data without improper disclosure.
- Monitors compliance to organizational policies and procedures
- Assists in the identification of gaps and barriers in compliance to organizational policy and in collaboration with management team, recommends methods for quality improvement

Education and/or Work Experience Requirement:
Minimum Qualifications:
- The candidate must have completed a doctoral program in counseling or psychology from a regionally accredited graduate school, current unrestricted state license and/or certification or similar clinical qualification including PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LPC or LMFT.
- Maintain valid CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Have reliable transportation, maintain valid auto insurance and a driving record of 3 or fewer points.
Professional Clinical Experience:
- The candidate must have five years of clinical experience in the field of mental health and chemical dependency, three of which would have been at management level in a behavioral health/dual diagnosis treatment facility.
Skills and Competency:
- The candidate will show strong clinical skills and competency in working with patients, from undertaking assessments (including risk), planning and delivery of care to review of effective methods of interventions, in order to shape continuing service provision that will meet the needs of individuals.
- They will have the ability to listen actively when spoken to and effectively communicate their thoughts to others.
- They will be sensitive to religious, ethnic and cultural differences in others and show respect and empathy.
- They will be able to work alone but also in a team, with fellow staff, in the business setting and will actively seek out advice and/or guidance in order to solve problems. The candidate will have good time management skills, will actively seek to accomplish tasks and be able to use a variety of methods and ideas to solve problems whilst also being open to suggestions from others in order to find solutions.
- They will possess excellent managerial and leadership skills/competence to enable them to support and motivate their teams and have excellent communication skills, sensitivity and approachability to enable them to connect with their teams, develop and train them in order to ensure a high standard of patient care.
- Being able to manage under pressure and conflicting demands, they should be professional at all times in order to make decisions and manage crisis situations whilst supporting the staff and patients.
