25%-Develops, implement, maintains and monitor policies and procedures that govern nursing services to ensure the highest level of care and services are provided to all residents depending on their personal medical and social needs. Participation in facility grievance program and investigating and resolving resident, resident representative, and staff grievances, accusation of mistreatment or abuse, adverse events and/or injuries of unknown origin. Participates in on call rotation with Administrator/nurse managers.
25%- Participates in various committees, safety, clinical risk, I-Team etc. Participates in the QAPI and continuous quality management program and requirements for accreditation. Facilitates compliance with performance improvement projects and tasks specific to quality nursing care. Oversees Infection control program for facility. Participates in annual review and update of Facility Assessment and QAPI plan.
15%-Determines the staffing needs of the department and assists in maintaining proper staffing levels. Interviewing and Hiring of nursing department staff (Nurses, CNAs, Health Unit Secretaries, MDS, etc.).
15%-Coordinate personnel functions of the department such as annual evaluations, disciplinary actions, promotions, assignment of duties, handling of conflicts, employee relations and staff grievances, etc.
15*%- Performs daily rounds, reviews documentation and adjusts or makes changes to ensure safe, proper and appropriate medical care is being provided to all residents. Assist in assessing and admitting new residents.
5%-Assist in setting and adjusting department budgets and monitoring compliance routinely. Coordinates Certified Nursing Assistant Youth Apprentice Program
