The Director of Human Resources will serve our customers, both internal and external, by aligning human resources vision and strategy, and developing and educating associates through informed policies and programs. The Director of HR originates human resources practices and objectives that provide a balance program throughout all areas. The individual in this position coordinates implementation of all human resources programs. Core areas of responsibilities are:

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for managing and mentoring the human resources team, providing guidance and support to ensure that the HR function operates effectively and efficiently.
- Develops and executes the company’s HR strategy in alignment with the organization’s overall vision and goals, ensuring that all human resources initiatives support and enhance the company’s mission and values.
- Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company HR policies and governmental laws and regulations. Approves recommendations for terminations. Reviews employee appeals through complaint procedure.
- Responsible for the management of confidential health insurance related reporting and administration of plan requirements, and 401k plan administration.
- Formulates and recommends Human Resources policies and objectives for the entire company.
- Investigates, determines, and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources function and ensures compliance.
- Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.
- Acts as primary contact with labor counsel and outside government agencies.
- Directs and coordinates processes of organizational planning that evaluates structure, job design, and manpower forecasting across Reid Companies. Evaluates plans and changes to plans. Makes recommendations to senior management.
- Establishes wage and salary structure, pay policies, performance appraisal programs, employee benefit programs and services, and company safety and health programs. Monitors for compliance, effectiveness, and cost containments.
- Establishes standard recruiting and placement practices and procedures.
- Handles employee relations, counseling and exit interviewing.
- Establishes in-house management training programs that address needs across companies.
- Provides necessary education and materials to associates - workshops, manuals, employee handbooks, standardized reports.
- Oversees implementation of programs through Human Resources and monitors administration to standard. Identifies opportunities and resolves discrepancies.
- Conducts a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to keep top management informed of new developments.
- Collaborates with key leadership to ensure that the company’s human capital needs are met and that HR initiatives are integrated with business objectives.
- Keeps supervisor informed of significant problems and risk exposure that jeopardize the achievement of objectives and those which are not being addressed adequately at the line management level.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or another related field
- Proven experience as an executive level Human Resources Director
- Expertise in both HR administration and strategic planning
- Successful management of an HR department
