HR Director Job Summary:
The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. Our ideal candidate will have hands-on experience leading HR for multiple manufacturing sites, including recruiting, onboarding/interviewing, exit interviews, the administration of benefits and compensation, team restructuring, and conflict resolution. The HR Director will participate in strategic planning and align HR function to the company’s business strategy. As the “face” of our company culture, he/she will have excellent communication and interpersonal skill, and enthusiasm for nurturing employee performance and a positive work environment. This position is responsible for Talent Management, Compensation and Benefits, Payroll, Training and Development, HR Compliance and Workplace Safety.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Overall responsibility for HR for multiple sites in the US and internationally.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals; align HR function to the company’s business strategy.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Works with Management to develop and maintain compensation rates and/or bonuses.
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Requirements for the Director of Human Resources:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 10 years of human resource management experience at the Director level in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • History of success in developing and implementing HR programs that address and solve business problems and contribute to achieving major long-term business objectives.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
  • International experience strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) candidates strongly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ADP – Human Resources Management Software and Payroll system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
This is a direct-hire position with a competitive base salary and benefits. This position can be based in any of the companies 3 NC locations (Aberdeen, Lincolnton, Pinebluff). Sponsorships and/or C2C arrangements are not available.
