Director of Business Development - Agency EA

This position is local to Chicago with a hybrid work schedule of 2 - 3 days within the office, located in River North and 2 - 3 days working from home. All employees are fully vaccinated and we offer safe working conditions.

Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience organization/industry in client facing role, preferably with agency and event/experiential marketing experience
  • Proven ability to culture new client relationships through interpersonal skills and strategic communications
  • Honed project management skills including communication, timeline management, detail orientation and organization
  • Proven ability to lead a multi-discipline team to collaborate effectively on complex presentations unifying multiple skill disciplines like production and creative
  • Ability to build a unique selling proposition, proposal narrative and pitch strategy
  • Proven ability to take new qualified business opportunities from opportunity to close.
  • Excellent and professional presentation skills
  • Highly effective at generating accurate estimates and negotiating in the sales process
  • Robust industry knowledge covering competition, EA services and market conditions
  • Proven ability to mentor and utilizes support teams effectively
  • Proven ability to vet opportunities, develop client relationship and convert them to an EA client
  • Ability to reach and exceed annual revenue goals through closing qualified business opportunities
  • Proficient in Google Slides, Keynote, and PPT
  • Proficient with Excel/Google Sheets
  • Experienced with Salesforce, Asana and other sales and project management software
Responsibilities:

Revenue Planning & Prospecting
  • Develop EA’s net new business strategy and vision
  • Identify segments and industry verticals that are profitable or allow for exciting work opportunities (hopefully both!)
  • Analyze historical data to successfully identify most profitable business offerings
  • Proactively determine specific industry targets, accounts and potential clients
  • Gain approval and buy-in on plan from leadership
  • Coauthor marketing campaigns targeted towards nurturing and engaging with promising leads
  • Creatively view agency’s scope of capabilities and actively identify and pursue clients who would benefit from our resources
  • Develop a list of target companies and contacts and manage day-to-day in CRM
  • Develop viable tactics to leverage including lead generation tools
  • Prioritize opportunities and maintenance of a personal prospect database
  • Provide regular new business updates to senior leadership
  • Field incoming leads to further qualify and nurture
  • Bring in and work hand-in-hand with BD colleagues when a lead has an opportunity to run the pitching and closing process.

Talent Development
  • Successfully develop support team members. Oversee all work produced by inbound team members ensuring the utmost attention to detail and highest quality work product.
  • Train and mentor BD talent and other agency personnel.
  • Lead by example and maintain a positive and productive atmosphere within the department.
  • Participate in the hiring of new team members as needed.
