Overview of position:

Summary:

Responsible for the administration, technical functions and management of the department personnel to maximize customer satisfaction and financial performance. Develops strategic goals and objectives for the department to assure services provided are comprehensive and appropriate to meet the needs of the customers and the organization.

Essential Duties:

Responsibilities:

1. Oversees operations of imaging services provided in the acute hospital setting including diagnostic radiology, Computed Tomography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound/Vascular Lab, Mammography, MRI & PET imaging. Also oversees operations of Genesis’ off-site imaging service facilities.
2. Leads evaluation of imaging capital equipment needs, recommending replacement and/or upgrades as appropriate to keep current with technology advancements and trends.
3. Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of technical areas of responsibility, recognizing the need to stay abreast of developments, trends, innovations and opportunities in diagnostic imaging services.
4. Participates in contract evaluation and negotiations as they related to capital expenditures, service contracts and supply purchases.
5. Assures procedure charge master is updated to reflect current services, coding and billing standards to maximize reimbursement.
6. Assures regulatory & accreditation standards are met (American College of Radiology, Ohio Department of Health, FDA-MQSA, etc) .
7. Serves as IRRP (Individual Responsible for Radiation Protection) for facility, overseeing radiation protection policies, procedures and practices meet ODH requirements.
8. Assures patient care provided within the Imaging department is consistent with organizational patient care policies, procedures and practices.
9. Establishes job competencies and performance goals to provide employees with clear performance expectations.
10. Assures clinical rotations for student imaging technologists (radiography, nuclear medicine & ultrasound) meets college and accreditation requirements.
11. Maintains effective working relationships with radiologists and referring physicians to assure their expectations and needs are being addressed.
12. Participates in marketing of imaging services to referring physicians and community.
13. Performs other functions as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (or equivalent) in an imaging specialty and licensed by the State of Ohio in Radiology as required.
2. Master’s Degree and minimum of five years management experience required.
3. Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, facilitation, conflict resolution skills.
4. Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
5. Demonstrated leadership abilities to direct department and meet established goals.
6. Ability to work independently and under pressure in a complex and changing working environment.
7. Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of computer software related to electronic imaging and clinical information management.
