Director - Financial Planning and Analysis

Purpose:

The Director of FP&A will lead Aurora’s financial planning and analysis function, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and analysis. This position prepares financial analysis and interpretation of financial and operational metrics and data to facilitate business decision-making. The Director of FP&A prepares monthly financial reports, leads the annual budget process, and supports the long-term planning process through partnership with operational leaders.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, analyze key metrics and trends, prepare scenarios and sensitivity analysis, and summarize results for executive level presentations.
  • Create and maintain complex financial models, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning.
  • Ensure accuracy of completeness of financial data, and provide monthly reporting on company performance, variances, and trends.
  • Prepare sophisticated financial analyses for senior management to support strategic, operational and financial objectives.
  • Create and maintain active partnerships with operational leadership to understand business drivers and support decision-making.
  • Develop finance and business presentations, including monthly financial reviews, and effectively summarize results.
  • Assist with preparation of board presentation materials and related analysis, including the quarterly management discussion & analysis (MD&A) report.
  • Drive continuous process improvements and automation initiatives aimed at creating scalability and efficiencies across financial planning and reporting activities. Refine data systems and tools to track performance, provide reporting solutions, and enhance operational insights.

Other Required Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the finance and technology teams to source, design, implement and drive continuous improvement to a modern and integrated Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) system.
  • Manage a Financial Analyst providing leadership, coaching and development opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience in financial planning and analysis experience with progressive responsibility; preference for exposure to manufacturing and/or food production
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent combination of education and experience; MBA preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Demonstrated aptitude and success in complex financial analysis and modeling.
  • Outstanding analytical skills with ability to synthesize information, develop insights and recommendations, and communicate effectively in presentations by developing the “story.”
  • Growth mindset with a curiosity to learn new skills and readily tackle complex new assignments.
  • Ability to operate in a changing environment with strong initiative and ability to multi-task.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and advanced knowledge of PowerPoint•
  • Knowledge of ERP and FP&A (aka EPM) systems (For example: OneStream, Hyperion, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit and focus for extended periods of time in front of a computer screen and/or while utilizing various office equipment (calculators, copy machines, etc.). Available for regular scheduled travel to remote facilities via automobile or airline.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $145,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
