Dining Server Job at Mount Vernon Towers
POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of the Dining Server is to provide service to residents dining at Table 300 and during scheduled catering events.
The Dining Server responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Welcome diners upon arrival with a warm greeting and introduce themselves.
- Inform the diners of daily specials and communicate information of pertinence.
- Take diner’s orders, including soup, salad, mains, beverages and desserts.
- Ring in orders on the point of sale system (POS). Ensure accuracy of the orders being entered.
- Pick-up and deliver orders to the diners in a timely manner.
- Check back on diner’s experience, making sure that they are satisfied.
- Clear courses and maintain tables throughout the diner’s visit.
- Work closely with the Culinary Department to ensure a high level of food & service is given. Do not accept or serve something that you wouldn’t want or that doesn’t meet specifications.
- Service catering events as scheduled, including setting up of rooms.
- Perform any other activities that are considered necessary by your manager.
- Perform side work, cleaning and closing responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
- Close checks on the POS, ensure accuracy of the close.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to handle stressful situations, work in a fast paced environment, think on ones feet
