Digital Marketing Specialist Job at Springfield Electric Supply Company
Primary Function
The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for the creation and communication of marketing content strategies and programs, both print and digital. Additionally, the Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible to develop, implement and maintain SESCO website content, including but not limited to content management and publishing, as well as the creation and execution of digital marketing strategies integrating social media platforms, marketing automation and other digital mediums. Coordinates efforts in conjunction with the Senior Director of Marketing and the Marketing Team. Includes use of company phone and iPad.
Digital, Print Campaigns, Brand Content, Communications and Digital Strategies
- Creates supporting content for SESCO Strategic Brand objectives.
- Creates innovative messaging/content to innovate & differentiate SESCO from competitors.
- Contributes to concepts and goals for paid and unpaid advertising campaigns to draw and build customer following, utilizing UTM codes /google tracking.
- Manages the creative execution of the companys communication needs for the websites, intranet (mySE), and digital media using brand styling guides to assure all communication and sites present a uniform look and message.
- Utilizes Marketing Automation, Social platforms, Third-party project sites, Content storage applications, etcfor organization and planning of work/task load.
- Maintains a working knowledge of required software applications and utilizes software for appropriate means of communication
External Websites Administration
- Serves as the Content System Administrator or Webmaster of the Companys websites, including the Lighting & Design website.
- Designs and maintains the functionality of the site content pages providing site visitors an accurate, logical, user-friendly experience that interfaces with the companys products, solution and service offerings.
- Creates web content structure that supports customer journey/digital funnel creating leads that support internal brand initiatives.
- Maintain Google Search Console and Web Site Maps.
- Develops a content and web plan based on brand solution/service initiatives and goals in coordination with the Senior Director of Marketing, gaining insight/feedback on appropriate content and layout; establishes a periodic schedule for content review and revisions.
- Coordinates with external web developers and/or third-party providers to design content to maximize site traffic and search engine optimization.
- Oversees content management systems to create templates and build pages; and manage the scheduling, maintenance and publishing process.
Social Media
- Develops the companys social media strategy, in coordination with the Marketing Team, identifying the appropriate platforms to best maximize exposure, improve community size and build engagement.
- Researches, recommends and engages paid advertisement and other SEO avenues to maximize results.
- Develops and executes digital campaigns to engage and build followers and relationships with customers.
- Publishes timely, relevant, interesting content that builds followers and strengthens brand awareness across multiple social platforms.
- Monitors & manages social media outreach, ensuring that all posts and messaging build engagement and align with the SESCO brand and industry best practices.
- Identifies and engages bloggers, other influencers, and brand advocates to build loyalty.
- Collaborates with Senior Director of Marketing, the Marketing Team and other department leaders (purchasing, pricing, HR) to identify needs, content development, and the posting of timely information for our customers and followers.
- Stays up-to-date with advances in social media technology and the latest social media platforms.
Device Content Oversight
- Provides technical support and education for apps and other digital marketing platforms.
Web & Data Analytics
- Measures and reports performance of websites and paid/unpaid digital campaigns including email communication/nurture campaigns through use of various reporting tools (Marketing Automation platform, Website Dashboards, Google Analytics, Social Media dashboard, etc).
- Analyzes data and takes appropriate action to optimize content based on analytics, customer needs and future enhancement needs.
- Analyzes campaign results and recommends changes for future campaigns.
- Provide Monthly, Quarterly and Annual report of Websites, Content and Campaign initiative results.
Customer Service
- Monitors and responds to electronic messaging (Outlook & operating system) in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Uses appropriate forms of written communication both internally & externally
- Provides courteous, prompt, efficient and accurate service to both internal and external customers.
- Resolves user and customer concerns.
- Encourages collaboration and viewed as a team player.
Team Orientation
- Establishes and maintains close, cooperative, and effective relationships with Marketing Team and all associates.
- Supports other departments and branches in their efforts.
Other Responsibilities
- Supports the Marketing Team in planning and executing events, promotions, and a variety of marketing activities.
- Aid in understanding of structure and maintenance of company CRM tool.
- Cross-trains with other marketing functions to serve as support and backup as directed.
- Support, develop, and maintain other digital platforms.
- Support and help develop SEO strategy plan for E-Business Digital Marketing in support of Ecommerce objectives.
- Maintains a strong knowledge of SESCO processes and procedures.
- Participates in meetings and training sessions as needed.
- Performs other duties as instructed or required to successfully complete the job.
Necessary Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Creative Design, Digital Marketing, Business, Web Design, Graphic Arts, or closely-related field or equivalent on the job experience as determined by Springfield Electric.
- Four (4) or more years of experience in marketing, advertising, e-marketing, social media campaigns, web management, or managing SEO/SEM.
- Working knowledge of website analytics tools (Google Analytics, HootSuite, Hubspot, etc.).
- Demonstrated analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
- Passion for technology and digital media, including knowledge of evolving best practices, web trends, and SEO/PPC.
- Strong digital platform skills (social platforms, landing pages, purchase strategies, etc.).
- HTML coding ability and web design experience.
- Ability to participate in project development (teamwork) leading to a clearly defined plan of action.
- Proven attentiveness to detail coupled with problem analysis and resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats, including the ability to write compelling marketing material to attract customers.
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, including the ability to plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.
- Proven proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
- Proven proficiency in web design software (WordPress, In-Design, Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop, etc.).
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all organizational members.

- Experience with optimizing landing pages and user formats.
- Link building experience.
Physical Ability Requirements
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, adding machine, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally climb a ladder and step stool.
- Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 75 lbs. and that may occasionally weigh in excess of 75 lbs.
