Holy Family Home is looking for an amazing Pantry Aide to join our family team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Requires knowledge acquired in two years of high school, vocational school or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience as a mature food service worker.
  • Must be dependable, exhibit a patient, polite and caring manner.
  • Able to follow instructions as related to job responsibilities.
  • Possess the ability to perform the *essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Follow state and federal regulations as outlined in the Home’s policies and procedures for Dietary Service, infection control, equipment usage, food distribution and food service under sanitary conditions.
  • Understand essential components of therapeutic diets related to setting the table with condiments (seasonings, beverage and dairy products) and assisting in meal service.
  • Adhere to sanitary conditions governing food storage, distribution and service to prevent food-borne illness.
  • Pick up food carts on schedule from the kitchen and serve at designated temperatures according to code.
  • Check that garbage and refuse container in kitchenette area kept in good condition (no leaks) and waste is properly contained in dumpsters and disposed of at designated times.
  • Use proper hand-washing techniques at all times.
  • Follow all safety, security, exposure control and hazardous waste policies and procedures.
  • Follow procedures for routine cleaning of kitchenette: equipment, cupboards, refrigerator, carts, counters, utensils, floor, etc.
  • Sweeps and mops kitchenette after meals as instructed, storing booms, mops and buckets properly in storage area.
  • Must be able to operate small electrical kitchen appliances, carts, sink/dish hoses, juice dispenser, coffee machine, garbage disposal.
  • Knows and follow existing lines of communication and authority, following oral and written instruction.
  • Work effectively and cooperatively as a team member within Department and with all departments or other disciplines.

MISCELLANEOUS:

  • Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all Home information.

  • Observe dress and conduct codes, including wearing identification badge.
  • Meet attendance standards as established and provide proper notice of absence.
  • Complete duties in prescribed time.
  • Attend in-services and department meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Must be able to stand 85% to 100% of typical work shift.
  • Must be able to lift/carry objects more than 20 lbs. Must be able to push/pull carts more than 50 lbs. and push occupied wheel chairs.
  • Must be able to walk, bend, twist, stretch and lift.
  • Ability to concentrate on moderate detail related to table set-up and therapeutic diets.
  • Able to remember simple and multiple tasks and assignments related to job responsibilities without frequent reminders.
  • Must have adequate hearing to hear within the range of a raised voices, to receive verbal instructions, answer phone calls and communicate effectively with Residents and others, or have the ability to read lips.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English with Residents and others.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must have the emotional stability to deal effectively with stress created by Residents' illnesses, disabilities and the aging process, organizational change, and working cooperatively as part of the health care team.

WORK SETTING/ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed primarily indoors but at times may attend outings outside the facility or may participate in outdoor activities of the Home. Work environment is well lighted, clean and suitable to tasks performed by the employee within temperature control standards that govern a skilled care facility.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.25 per hour
