ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Provides excellent customer service to patients, visitors, families and co-workers and supports the hospital mission and vision.
2. Prepares food items necessary for the opening of cafeteria, reports to assigned station promptly
and is always on time.
3. Labels, dates and covers all food items with regard to proper food rotation.
4. Stocks and refills necessary food/paper supplies and prepares station for the following day.
5. Maintains high quality standards of hot/cold foods and cuts and prepares food properly.
6. Serves customer cheerfully, respectfully and efficiently.
7. Prevents run outs of all food/paper items and promptly reports shortages or potential shortages.
8. Demonstrates the ability to work efficiently at all stations and sanitizes equipment properly.
9. Operates the dish machine properly, ability to break down cafeteria trays, wash, stack, and put away dishes.
10. Working knowledge of food services sanitation and infection control standards.
11. Fills and stocks condiments in the cafeteria throughout meal service.
12. Operates cash register according to standard procedure. Collects cash, meal tickets, guest tickets, and make change as needed.
13. Handles all money transactions. Locks cash register when leaving immediate area.
14. Reconciles cash accurately, fills out reconciliation slips precisely, including cash and/or meal tickets and beginning cash balance.
15. Prepares menu board for the successive meal as assigned.
16. Prepares accurate daily reports to business office regarding money taken in and customer count.
17. Responsible for having a balanced and accurate drawer at the end of the shift.
18. Reports any food/paper shortages or potential shortages.
19. Performs all refrigeration temperature checks and turns on any necessary equipment.
20. Continuously uses time in a productive manner reducing non-essential interruptions to an absolute minimum.
21. Completes all priority tasks and consistently demonstrates a willingness to help others.
22. Coordinates work achieve maximum productivity and efficiency during the assigned tasks.
23. Demonstrates a cost conscious attitude and understands the importance of portion control.
24. Cleans work area and maintains a neat and organized station with the “clean as you go” according to policy.
25. Develops initiative, maintains a pro active attitude, and seeks on-going development of skills.
26. Effectively follows all hospital policies and procedures.
27. Meets expectations in regards to regular attendance and punctuality when scheduled to work.
28. Performs all other duties as assigned.
