Job Description
As the Development Review Engineer for the Town of Holly Springs, you will be a part of a team of professionals in the Development Services Department that focuses on the planning, engineering review, and construction of land development projects in a growing and dynamic community. Your role as Development Review Engineer will be to provide technical civil engineering review for new development projects and provide the coordination needed between a multi-discipline team and the development community to ensure town goals, standards, and ordinances are met throughout the design and construction of the project.

What you will bring to our Development Services Team:
A Bachelor"s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering & Management or a related field and considerable construction and engineering experience
Minimum of 4 years experience with municipal engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience (candidates with less experience may be considered)
Professional Engineer (PE) certification required or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment
Considerable review and/or design experience with civil engineering projects with a specific focus on municipal utilities (water, wastewater, reclaimed water), transportation, and stormwater
Analytical and critical thinking skills
Organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
What you will be doing:
Provide coaching, mentoring, and direction to direct report team members
Utilize knowledge in civil engineering and interpretation of codes, standards, and ordinances to provide guidance for design professionals through development review submittals
Provide technical review and analysis of plans and engineering studies for transportation and public utility improvements related to development projects
Coordinate with state and federal agencies for consistency in processes and implementation of regulations
Prepare written and oral reports and presentations to the Town Council, Planning Board, and Board of Adjustment
Develop, build and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, clients, the development community, neighborhood groups, municipal officials, various boards, Town departments, and the general public
