The Deposit Operations Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with the daily management of the bookkeeping department including supervising the work activities of the team members.

The Deposit Operations Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with the daily management of the bookkeeping department including supervising the work activities of the team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with the leadership of the daily work activities of department personnel and may be hands-on as needed to ensure that daily objectives are met. Assists with management of functions such as Exception Item Processing, Account Adjustments, Chargebacks, Account Reconciliations
- Monitor the completion of all tasks assigned to Deposit Operations; ensures tasks are fulfilled timely, accurately, and according to written policy and procedures.
- Serve as a senior level resource for team members assisting with questions and providing guidance on issue resolution.
- Provide training opportunities for direct reports and ensures cross training efforts are scheduled throughout the year on a continuous basis.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of the bank’s core and ancillary applications as they are related to Deposit Operations. Partner with systems support teams to remain updated on application updates.
Competencies Required:
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage workload in a fast paced, high volume environment and to instill a sense of urgency in others as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Developed problem solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
- Working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles including account reconciliation.
- General knowledge of regulatory requirements involving Deposit Operations.
- Flexibility to provide after-hours and weekend support as needed.
- Strong ability to supervise, lead and motivate staff effectively.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally; Strong ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Good technical skills with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Access), and banking software applications and systems.
Qualifications
- 5 years deposit operations experience in the banking or financial services industry required.
- 2-3 years Supervisory or Management experience required.
Formal Education & Certification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Work Status:
- Full-Time.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- 2 or more direct reports.
Travel:
- 0% travel expected.
Working Conditions:
- Conditions involve lifting no more than ten pounds, sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, moving, or standing for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying articles like files, ledgers, folders, etc.
