Kamehameha Schools is looking for a full-time Data and Research Analyst to support our Kapālama High School campus on Oʻahu. The ideal candidate brings expertise in statistical analysis, archival research, researching current data and trends for College and Post-Secondary Programs, tactical planning and supporting the development and implementation of various educational programs then monitoring the program measures and metrics.

Job Summary:

Advances emerging or standard practices for decision making and program development for the division through statistical analysis, archival research, tactical planning, and supporting the development and implementation of program monitoring measures and metrics. Leads division-related research and evaluation activities to include data gathering, research literature reviews, report writing, and assisting with program reporting. Focuses on both the operational management and strategic uses of the group or division's data.

Essential Responsibilities:

Research & Data Analysis

  • Designs, develops, and implements research and evaluation projects and decision support methodologies, models and tools to study program implementation and impact.
  • Leads the design and implementation of program logic model and monitoring, evaluation studies, & data collection and maintenance for analyses that seeks to measure reach, outcomes, and impact.
  • Supports short- and long-term tactical planning and implementation efforts by executing data, program, and or operational analyses (simple descriptive, cross-tabulations, etc.) to improve program implementation and to track outcomes and impact.
  • Collects data using surveys, observation, and individual and/or small group interviews.
  • Provides analyses that inform quarterly and annual reporting, dashboards, program logic models, evaluation and monitoring.
  • Data analysis includes support group process data to determine trends and contribute towards efficient process designs.
  • Performs quality assurance activities including editing reports and presentations and validating data analysis and results.
  • Protects third-party confidential and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data using standard professional and KS procedures.

Project Planning & Management (Research and Data Analysis)

  • Manages multiple, concurrent projects, including vendor support, timelines, resources, project scope, and documentation.
  • Maintains quality assurance of service delivery of contracts, data collection and analysis procedures.
  • Designs and maintains the processes and procedures for creating and managing large data sets used for analysis to inform continuous program improvement and reporting efforts.
  • Leads and trains all assessment and program evaluation procedures.

Collaboration, Communication & Reporting

  • Collaborates with peers to encourage efficiency, knowledge sharing/transfer, and development of leading practices.
  • Interprets and presents results of analyses to enterprise and division leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Facilitates meetings, documents results, and ensures issue resolution.
  • Build internal and external relationships with partners and stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and sharing of data.
  • Works collaboratively with enterprise-wide data systems management.

Position RequirementsMinimum Qualifications

- An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the requirements listed.

  • Bachelor's degree in education, social or health sciences, business/economics, or related field.
  • 5 years relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, SPSS and/or SAS or other statistical procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and macros.
  • Ability to design, monitor, and evaluate plans, programs, and procedures.
  • Ability to address quality control issues around educational testing and program evaluation.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and handle multiple and simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to write technical and professional reports for decision-making in the educational field analyze programs.
  • Competence in data management and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to facilitate, present and explain procedures and data to all audiences.
  • Strong communication (written and oral), interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a rapidly changing work environment.

Preferred Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic principles, theories, and practices of education, including curriculum program planning and development; current principles, theories and practices in the specialized area of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations around ethics, confidentiality, and contracts; principles and practices of public relations and budget preparation.
  • Proven record of designing and assessing procedures for organizational and/or process improvement.
  • Knowledge of and experience in educational settings.
  • Familiarity with post-secondary data including the National Student Clearinghouse.
  • Proficiency with Qualtrics, Naviance, and Infinite Campus.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently sits, perform desk-based computer tasks and grasp light or fine manipulation, talk or hear.
  • Occasionally stand and/or walk, write by hand, and lift and/or carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp forcefully.

Working Conditions

  • This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business.
  • Work is conducted in an office environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
  • Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
