Duties
As the Data Integration Specialist, you will bring your expertise and proficiency of computer technology to provide technical and structural leadership in the specialized technology of database management, data transformation. In this position your contribution in the development and maintenance of data transformation models, code, and processes for multiple DOL databases and reporting environments. In this role your ability to design and implement select data repositories including the extract, transform, load processes from source systems for on-premises and cloud environments. You will be working and collaborating with a team of Database Administrators to ensure all required security practices are followed to avoid business impact and maintenance of operational production repositories. Furthermore, as the Data Integration Specialist you will also support the data steward team, who are responsible for data quality, structured dataset enhancement and distribution.
Some of what you will do:
- Recommend infrastructure acquisitions and improvements to facilitate the delivery of services with customer data access / reporting tools and improve processes.
- Develop functional and non-functional requirements for new data hardware and software infrastructure for review by Server Admins and Architects.
- Serve as a technical consultant to enhance and maintain on-going operations of all enterprise data applications.
- Provide advanced consultation and/or advice to DOL management on data transformation methodologies and tooling.
- Analyze complex data systems and existing data models and designs to identify and capture design and operational metadata.
Qualifications
What you will bring:
- Eleven (11) years of combined education and relevant experience in, Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- Seven (7) years of experience analyzing, designing, or developing computer systems applications or databases.
Experience can be obtained concurrently
Education to experience equivalency
Associates degree = 2 years | Bachelor’s degree = 4 years | Master's degree = 5 years
Education may not be used in lieu of all experience.
What may help set you apart :
- Six (6) or more years of experience as Software Developer.
- Data warehouse or data catalog management.
- NoSQL database.
- Proficient in R and/or Python analytics tools.
- Proficient in Active Directory.
- Data virtualization.
- Enterprise Resource Planning.
- Application Programming Interfaces.
- XML, JavaScript, SQL, SQL Reporting Services, Windows Batch Scheduler (TIDAL), Web Services, R, Python, tidyverse, pandas.
- Familiar with NIST security.
Additional Requirements of Employment:
- This position requires in office attendance and occasional site visits.
