Overview
The Lead Teacher of the district’s Southeast Delco Cyber program demonstrates strong instructional practices and strong knowledge of cyber education regulations. He/she, reporting to the assistant superintendent, supports the function of the school district in the pursuit of attaining district goals and student achievement results. In collaboration with district leadership, the Lead Teacher of Southeast Delco Cyber program carries forth district initiatives
in cyber education programming, and assists the district in compliance with cyber education regulations.
Qualifications/Background
The Lead Teacher, Southeast Delco Cyber program, has demonstrated the following attributes:
1. Ability to demonstrate best practices in a variety of teaching methods and learning modalities
2. Knowledge of best practices in cyber education programming.
3. Ability to analyze student achievement data and to implement appropriate
strategies to meet student needs.
4. Proven ability to communicate effectively and to have strong interpersonal skills.
Position Requirements
The Lead Teacher assumes the following responsibilities in support of district programs and staff but is not limited to these responsibilities:
1. Assist with the implementation of quality cyber education programming
for students from all district schools.
2. Assist in the development of the K12/Aventa educational software system.
a. Review and develop course pathways for different grades in the K12/Aventa program.
b. Create classes and student course assignment for all students in the
cyber education program.
c. Monitor student progress on the K12/Aventa system.
3. Attend student intake meetings to insure best practices and high quality of
cyber education programming under the guidance of the assistant
superintendent.
4. Attend workshops and conferences on best practices in cyber education
programming as approved by the assistant superintendent.
5. Assist in the professional development of school staff on issues relevant to
quality cyber education services in collaboration with the assistant
superintendent, administration and principals.
6. Support the principal and assistant principals in development of possible re-entry transition plan for students returning to regular education setting from the cyber school. In addition, he/she is responsible for monitoring that transition plan for a period of time after the student returns to regular classes.
7. Make periodic home visits to students in cyber program.
8. Any other responsibility that the principal and/or assistant superintendent deems appropriate related to cyber education programming.
Certification: Valid PA teaching certificate; Instructional II preferred.
Additional Position Requirements
Experience with on-line learning preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $49,963.00 per year
