The Credit Analysis Vertical Manager will be responsible for managing the individual team workflow from receipt to scheduling of completion and approval, ensuring efficient, accurate, and value added analysis of credit risk for relationships both new and existing to the bank, following both Bank and Department Policy and Procedures; ensure the creation, maintenance and implementation of credit vertical departmental policies and procedures; ensuring the accuracy of all underwriting packages, credit presentations within the vertical that are sent for approval, coordinating modifications to Policy and/or Underwriting Manual with SVP Senior Credit Manager, VP Credit Analysis Operations Manager, and VP Credit Risk Manager; and VP Credit Analysis QC Manager, coordinate with VP Credit Analysis QC Manager to ensure the department is in compliance operating policies and procedures as well as outside regulatory requirements including HLT, HVCRE, and HMDA (as applicable).

Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Provides review and oversight of work related to the Bank’s administration of credit in accordance with the corporate credit policy and organization’s practices.
  • Approval of new loans on a transactional basis of up to $2 million dollars. Approval of short- and long-term extensions and certain types of modifications.
  • Monitors the level of quality related to the administration of the credit process within the assigned vertical as outlined in Bank Policy, the Underwriting Manual and the department’s internal analysis and underwriting procedures to prevent errors which could result in losses to the bank.
  • Ensuring that the work output within the assigned vertical meet regulatory guideline associated with the credit practices of the Bank as outlined in Bank Policies and Procedures.
  • Works closely with SVP Credit Administration Manager, VP Credit Analysis QC Manager, VP Credit Ops Mgr. and VP Credit Risk Manager in the creation/development, update and implementation of Procedures, Credit Policy, Underwriting Manual, updates to systems, and enhanced internal operations, mainly but no limited to the assigned vertical.
  • Works closely with SVP Credit Administration Manager and VP Credit Analysis Ops Mgr. and VP Credit Analysis QC Manager to develop and prepare various reports on an ad hoc and recurring basis to support department decisions and special projects.
  • Develops and prepares monthly departmental reports in conjunction with SVP Credit administration Manager and VP Credit Analysis QC Manager utilized by Senior and Executive management.
  • Assists with regulatory compliance efforts and works with VP Coml Bnkg Risk Analyst II and VP Credit Analysis QC Manager; monitors commercial lending adherence and compliance to regulation including but not limited to: the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (Regulation C), including the input of HMDA loans into Compliance relief, Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Regulation B), High Volatility Commercial Real Estate (Regulatory Capital Rule), Highly Leveraged Transactions, and Anti-Money Laundering/Bank Secrecy Act (Customer Identification and Due Diligence).
  • Responsible for the coordination annual due diligence of the list of banks engaged in buy-side or sell-side participations or syndications with the bank and Ad hoc due diligence analysis for new banks with VP Credit Analysis QC Manager.
  • Participates in Bank’s Credit Committee as Secretary/Alternate of the Committee and also prepares agenda and formal Committee minutes.
  • Coordinates file research efforts and determine root cause of problems identified audit and loan review findings. Works closely with SVP Credit Administration Manager and VP Credit Analysis QC Manager to respond to audit and loan review findings.
  • Coordinate with VP Credit Analysis QC Manager collection and dissemination of information to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and PA Department of Banking during bank examinations.
  • Periodic validation of Department templates in coordination with VP Credit Ops Mgr and VP Credit Analysis QC Manager.
  • Responsible for scheduling and periodic training presentations to Credit Staff during scheduled departmental meetings.
  • As volume dictates, prepares the entire underwriting document utilized by executive management to approve loans for the highest credit risk exposures. Ensures that documents are accurate with a high level of detail. Ability to thoroughly document the approaches taken and to defend all assumptions utilized in the credit analysis.
  • As volume dictates, utilizes advanced financial and quantitative analyses techniques to evaluate financial and related information to gauge borrower’s overall ability to repay debt as well as to assess financial performance relative to peer companies, industry benchmarks or other standards of performance.
  • As volume dictates, interprets, and resolves complex financial problems and questions, including the identification of required variables and data sources, proper adjustment of stated financial figures, finding solutions from incomplete or fragmentary information, and following through with all appropriate calculation steps.
  • As volume dictates, assigns appropriate risk ratings to proposed loan transactions, including regulatory non-pass ratings, which will directly influence the ALL provision and bank earnings. Defends assigned risk ratings.
  • As volume dictates, works with Managed Assets Departments underwriting and workout activities.
  • Assumes additional duties as requested, including special projects to meet various strategic initiatives.

  • Demonstrates creativity in meeting business challenges. Directly supervises assigned personnel as follows:
  • Responsible for the selection of new personnel as appropriate.
  • Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel.
  • Reviews employee performance throughout the probationary period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter.
  • Organizes, schedules, and distributes work among assigned personnel.
  • Keeps personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the department and/or their jobs; creates and atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encouraged
  • Administers personnel policies and procedures as established by bank policy.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with all bank employees. Demonstrates the ability to work independently. Works as a team player to contribute to the success of the department in turn the organization.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications /Education Required:

  • Bachelors or higher in Accounting or related field.
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience with Credit Analysis or related experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
