Estate & Trust Manager (CPA)

Walpole & Co., LLP is a successful, full-service CPA firm with over 40 team members, located in Goleta, a beautiful California coastal community in Santa Barbara County. Walpole offers a broad range of services including Income Tax preparation & planning, Estate & Trust, Audit & Review Accounting services, Wealth Management & Information Technology Solutions.

We are looking for a Manager with a strong background in Estate & Trust. The position offers opportunities for advancement with excellent benefits. As a CPA for the Estate & Trust Team, you will have a unique opportunity to collaborate with a growing team of professionals with the needed expertise to accomplish client goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and prepare complex Estate & Trust tax returns
  • Review court accountings
  • Estate &Trust planning including analysis of estate and trust documents
  • Proficient in individual taxes & planning
  • Good communication skills with clients & team members
  • Identify and address client needs
  • Review and prepare complete, well-documented sets of working papers in support of tax return preparation process
  • Manage multiple existing Walpole clients relationships
  • Prepare various written correspondence with clients and tax authorities
  • Develop new client relationships
  • Perform tax research and planning

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Licensed CPA
  • Minimum 10-15 years’ experience with a CPA firm
  • Background experience in the Estate & Trust field

Other Qualifications

  • Team player and collaborative; uses resources of the firm
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills – able to build trusted relationships
  • Very good judgment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
