The Tenth Judicial District is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Court Operations Clerk to join the Pine County Administration team in Pine City, MN.
As a Court Operations Clerk you will perform entry level court administration filings and document processing, clerical work assisting proceedings in a district court of the Minnesota Judicial Branch. This position will primarily be responsible for the local front counter customer service support, administrative office support. Office clerical work includes customer assistance, processing record requests, and mailroom duties. This position will primarily work on the PICK (Pine, Isanti, Chisago, Kanabec) criminal case filings with the opportunity to work within all court case types.
This AFSCME-represented position is classified as a Court Operations Clerk and located in the Pine County Courthouse located at 635 Northridge Dr. NW Suite 320 Pine City, MN 55063. Core business hours Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, however, work hours may vary depending on business needs. Initial days off: Saturday, Sunday and Court Designated Holidays.

The following are examples of major job duties expected of this position:
Perform routine and/or limited scope court operations work, which may include scanning and/or imaging documents, data entry, retrieving and filing case files and documents, set up and maintain documents, files, records, and reports relating to court activities and/or responding to requests for information from the general public, attorneys, and court employees- Issue receipts for payment of court fees, fines, bail, and restitution; check people in for court; assist public in filling out various applications and forms; prepare certified and plain copies of court records upon request
- Input, update, or delete information in electronic case management system; copie, scan, and distribute documents including imaging original documents into digital files; assign appropriate security levels for documents; manage, handle, indexe, store, maintain, return, and/or destroy court exhibits and documents per policies and procedures.
- May perform the duties of an Electronic Recording Equipment Operator (EREO) including setting up and testing recording equipment, recording and monitoring court proceedings, creating courtroom log as necessary, backing up recordings in compliance with applicable policies and procedures, and shutting down recording equipment once recording has been completed.
- May perform office support duties including receiving, sorting, opening, and distributing mail; may process and receipt checks received; orders and distributes courtroom and office supplies; copies, prints, and maintains courtroom and office forms and documents; serves as a receptionist.
- May provide assistance to others in performing courtroom operation duties, including clerking hearings, scheduling hearings, working calendars, and assisting staff with in-court updating.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent, and six (6) months of relevant job experience.
- Ability to learn, interpret, and apply rules, statues, laws, policies, and procedures in area of assignment
- Knowledge of customer service practices and techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to maintain an accurate record filing system.
- Ability to learn court automated information systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and files appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes.
- Ability to adapt to change and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others within and outside of the Judicial Branch.
Work is performed primarily in an office-setting, a public counter and/or in a courtroom

The Tenth Judicial District is a part of the Minnesota Judicial Branch and covers the 8 Counties in the Northern Suburbs of the Twin Cities Metro Area.
