Overview:
By Light is hiring a Cyberspace Intelligence and Policy Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. This position will support aspects of cyberspace intelligence and analysis as it relates to policy and strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze cyberspace technical capabilities and threats then produce DoD executive level white papers and point papers to inform/influence cyber strategy, policy and doctrine both internal and external to the customer.
- Produce documents that interpret Cyber Policy and Doctrine that enables the customer to accomplish DCO-IDM and DODIN Operations.
- Conduct analysis to identify indications of adversary activity and warn (Indications and Warning) leaders of potential threats, cyber developments, events, or conditions that may adversely affect the DODIN; advising leaders in order to proactively confront emerging challenges, leverage opportunities, avoid surprise and produce strategic outcomes favorable to the U.S. or allied interests.
- Provide all-source analytical support to DODIN/DCO to include production of cyber related Intelligence Estimates.
- Produce special reports and assessments related to specific incidents and trends concerning threats to the DODIN as required.
- Respond to the customer for threat identification of activity directed against DoD systems.
- Evaluate international events, all-source and open-source intelligence, and operational information to assist in the assessment of potential impacts to the DODIN and alert the customer Staff and Leadership to potential network exploitation or attacks.
- Develop and present in-depth intelligence briefings and presentations concerning nation-state and non-state actor capabilities and activities, specific actor profiles, and incidents affecting DoD communications networks.
- Excellent background with synchronizing and validating requirements of analysts and intelligence users, source intelligence within the interagency and military systems.
- Strong understanding of the Intelligence Cycle.
- Ability to write detailed and comprehensive cyber intelligence analytical products in a team environment.
- Ability to place threats in the proper context and identify the “so what” for decision makers; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to apply formal intelligence analysis methods, develop hypothesis, prove/disprove relationships, always ask “why”, defend your analysis, and apply attribution to cyber threat activity.
- Demonstrated application of intelligence analysis and tradecraft through writing and presentation ability.
- Strong working ability with all MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, etc.).
- Staff experience researching and writing white papers, compliance reports and assessment reports in support activities for defining policy.
- Proficient in developing briefing materials, administrative, and logistics support.
- Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate effectively, including public speaking, and briefing senior officers.
- Advanced communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) enabling precise conveyance of information across all CC/S/A/FA with command and proper enunciation of the English language.
- Must possess a TS/SCI active clearance.
- By Light does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters; vaccination requirements and testing are subject to the status of the federal contractor mandate and customer site requirements; testing is at the cost of the employee.
