Due to our continued growth we are hiring a Cost Accountant to join our Finance Team. The cost accountant is responsible for assisting in the organization’s financial planning process and monthly closing procedures with emphasis on cost accounting and inventory. The Cost Accountant performs a variety of accounting and finance tasks including the following:

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

· Compares Standard vs. Actual, Raw Materials, etc.

· Performs calculations of overhead costs and variance analysis

· Prepares month end close for inventory and WIP.

· Performs Cost of Goods Sold Analysis.

· Performs Margin Analysis and identification of possible re-quotes.

· Performs cost rollups.

· Analyzes closed jobs for variance (WIP Account Summary Reports)

· Runs Discrete Job Value Report.

· Analyzes Purchase Price Variance.

· Inventory obsolescence preparation and review.

· Reviews standard versus actual hours.

· Responsible for integrity and accuracy of costing and inventory

· Responsible for WIP accuracy.

· Responsible for tying inventory and WIP schedules to GL.

· Responsible for month end journal entry’s relating to costing and inventory.

· Participates in physical inventories.

· Administration of price / invoice review & BOM updates.

· Administration / verification of Invoice cost coding to general ledger.

· Performs Ad-hoc reporting.

· Assists in special projects as requested

Minimum Requirements

- Associates degree in Accounting or related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred

- Minimum 3 years experience. Prefer 5+ experience in a manufacturing environment

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

- Excellent analytical skills

- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently on
tight deadlines.

- Excellent communication, time-management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills

- Strong work ethic and desire to learn
