Responsibilities:
The Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for managing tactical execution and providing strategic leadership that supports Supply Chain service and cost objectives for the entire PCB network. This position develops logistics solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of PCB to support company growth.

Working Location
: Office/Remote Hybrid
This position is in-office with a flexible schedule that may entail working from home a couple of days out of the week. #LI-hybrid
This role will be officed out of the Lakeville, MN Corporate office.

Respon
sibilities and Accountabilities
Organization and People Development
  • Manage and develop the Transportation Planning team, including hiring, goal setting, performance management, coaching, teamwork, project support, training and daily execution.
  • Develop and foster close relationships with internal and external customers including carrier partners, customer solutions, warehousing, plant operations, and sourcing
  • Work cross functionally to develop and implement cost savings initiatives for supply chain
  • Responsible for all daily operations which includes being “on call” for urgent issues
  • Provide leadership and support for TMS operations
  • Support freight pay process and compliance.
Technical and Functional Expertise
  • Responsible for providing transportation capacity to cover plant manufacturing daily shipments to our internal distribution centers and from our DCs to our customers
  • Implement and monitor appropriate objectives and measures to continuously improve performance
  • Provide solutions for carrier, lane and customer challenges associated with cost and service
  • Oversee CPU program to ensure compliance by customers and best interests of customers and company are met in a win-win environment
  • Support dedicated carrier programs and monitor carrier performance
  • Maintain contracted carrier rates and capacity arrangements through TMS system to ensure company objective are met and ensure freight invoice and payments are processed efficiently
  • Implement CI tools to analyze non-optimized flow or service to develop solutions
Technology Support
  • Utilize industry technology to improve daily execution, enhance current capabilities and prepare for future requirements.
Qualifications:
Education: Four year degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Supply Chain, Business, or other related field of study

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of managing people
  • Experience operating in a supply chain-planning environment in areas of operations, materials management, transportation planning, carrier management or warehousing
  • Broad knowledge of logistics processes and planning systems
  • Cost control, cost/benefit analysis and the implementation of productivity improvements.
  • Experience with international shipping (preferred)
  • Integrated planning systems training (ERP/DRP/WMS/TMS is preferred)
  • Professional certification in transportation (preferred)

  • Demonstrated good business judgment and decision making skills
  • Understanding of economic principles affecting decisions related to transportation
  • Understanding of modes of transportation, shipping lanes and material handling
  • Skill in prioritizing workloads and stress management.
  • Ability to coordinate and move forward on planned activities in a team environment
  • Problem solving, results orientation, ability to establish clear objectives for self and others
  • Ability to identify deviations from plan and facilitate resolution
