Summary

The Corporate Attorney will provide advice to support and drive the vision and strategic objectives of Ahtna, Incorporated and its Subsidiaries and help management build comprehensive and dynamic plans and programs. The Corporate Attorney will assist the senior level attorney in providing legal and compliance services, including 1) leading the regulatory compliance team, 2) providing direction on statutory and regulatory requirements, implications and risks of business plans, programs, products, and agreements, 3) promoting compliance with laws and regulations application to Ahtna’s businesses, 4) developing and helping implement risk management and preventative strategies. The Corporate Attorney will be primarily concerned with operational and compliance issues faced by Ahtna, Incorporated’s Subsidiaries.

Minimum Qualifications

All Levels

  • Doctor of Jurisprudence degree (JD) from an accredited United States Law School.
  • Must be a member of the Alaska Bar Association.

Experience
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge in the following areas:

  • Legal concepts
  • Applicable municipal, state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to Alaska Native Corporations and general corporations
  • Corporate ethics and compliance
  • State business licensing
  • State and federal government contracting
  • Construction disputes
  • Contracts
  • Employee relations
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and/or complaints
  • Ability to present on complex topics to top management, public groups, associate groups or customer groups
  • Ability to foster trust, confidence, and business partnering with management and legal team

Level I

  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Attorney in a law firm or private company.

Level II

  • Must have a minimum of six (6) years of experience as an Attorney in a law firm or private company.

Pay: $96,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
