Controls Proposal Engineer & Estimator will provide bid and estimation of projects to support Service Division proposals and customer demands by interpreting project plans, executing panel builds to specifications and industry standards while maintaining customer relationships by performing the following duties.

Controls Proposal Engineer & Estimator Responsibilities:

1. Guide and support the customer in the preparation and delivery of documentation (estimations, proposals, clarifications, and other information) in response to requests and in coordination with the sales and operations teams.

2. Analyze customer requests and work with sales, operations, and other internal support teams to propose solutions which best fit the technical and commercial requirements.
Design, costing, scheduling and production of proposals leading to winning new projects.

3. Guide and expedite all involved parties to ensure that responses and proposals are delivered on time and with the highest regard for quality

4. Complete and accurate automation solutions, proposals, requests, responses and supporting documentation that ensure the optimal balance between the technical and commercial requirements.

5. Final proposal and costing to be delivered to customer, clarifications and other information requested by customer

6. Analyze request for quotation and other documents / technical drawings provided by the customer

7. Management and development of proposed standard processes, tooling, and structures for enhancement of solutions proposals.

8. Work with sales, operations, and other internal support teams to define solutions which best fit the customer technical and commercial requirements.

9. Identify external content (3rd party/PLC/HMI/SCADA/VFD) and interact with Procurement to obtain technical and commercial offers from external suppliers

10. Identify content from other lines of business / functions and interact with other support teams to obtain technical and commercial offers

11. Coordinate internal processes such as Kick-off Meeting, Proposal Review Meeting, Risk review, Approval Process, etc.

12. Answer post-offer technical questions / clarifications and update the offer if necessary

13. Prepare the handover package to operations team when the project is won

14. Maintain high level of knowledge of the marketplace, technology, and application trends

15. Be a change agent, influence, consult and lead efforts for sharing and standardizing of best practices and processes

16. All other duties as assigned by supervision.

Requirements for the Controls Proposal Engineer & Estimator

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience highly preferred.
• Industry experience also highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of single phase, three phase and DC circuits required.
• Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology is required.
• Attention to detail, organization skills and ability to work independently or with a team
• Results-driven personality a plus.
• Strong communication skills whether written, verbal or otherwise required especially using moderately complex terminology and concepts.
