Position Summary/Purpose

Performs a variety of engineering duties to support the manufacturing and quality process as directed by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Will provide plant support from the Controls Engineering perspective.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Investigate and assist in the solution of production problems related to tooling, equipment, and process aimed at supporting the Plant from a controls and PLC format. MUST HAVE expereince with Allen Bradley PLC's and programming!!

· Develops, recommend and implement changes, which will result in the improvement of manufacturing process and product quality.

· Ensure a safe work environment for all employees.

· Supervise trial runs on proposed changes or on sample parts to evaluate the results.

· Provide technical assistance to product line/process areas.

· Design and acquisition of tools and equipment consistent with Carter Fuel System tool design and equipment standards.

· Initiate and/or approve deviations from engineering standards and follow-up on communications with respect to such deviations.

· Assist in development and implementation of programs aimed at providing a safe, clean work environment.

· Development of packaging, labeling, preservation, and marking requirements.

· Developing and improving material handling.

· Interface with outside vendors/customers as required to resolve process/product issues and maintain good work relationships

· Participate on advance product planning teams and new product launch teams as requested by plant manager.

· Execute necessary reports, forms, and other administrative duties as required to meet the expectations of the business, which may include customer reporting programs when defined.

· Implement and/or support lean manufacturing initiatives in all areas of operations.

Universal Expectations

· Authority to stop production or shipments when suspect parts are found and responsibility for quality of parts produced.

· As relevant to the job, functional knowledge and utilization of Carter Fuel Systems Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with the ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Standard

· As a condition of employment, employee is expected to comply with our safety policies and procedures.

· Employee is expected to reuse and/or recycle work materials and not pollute the environment. Employee must comply with the Company’s environmental policy and procedures and with all requirements of the environmental management system in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.

· Ability to work a full-time schedule.

Education/Experience/Certifications

· High school diploma or GED (required)

· B.S. in engineering or related technical discipline (required)

· 5 or more years engineering experience (preferred)
