Controls Engineer
Seeking a candidate to fill a Controls Engineer position at our major transit project. This exciting role entails a variety of responsibilities in a fast paced, and technically challenging environment at our Los Angeles field office. A qualified candidate will have the opportunity to grow their technical skill set across a broad range of automation technology, work in a variety of industrial and SCADA applications for the Transit industry, and develop industry specific expertise. Responsibilities:
- Tasks include creating PLC, HMI, and RTAC code for Power SCADA and Communication systems
- Creating test procedures and scripts to test industrial automation functionality
- Review technical documentation such as electrical diagrams, one line architectures, construction drawings, networking diagrams, etc to determine completeness, validity, and approvals
- Tasked with creating port assignments, cable schedules, and architecture diagrams
- Commission automation systems onsite
- Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications to meet specifications
- Develop Electrical Bill of Materials
- Execute engineering tasks under a 4 man project team
- Communicate to customers in a timely and professional manner
- Report to a field office close to the intersection of Century Blvd and Airport Blvd for 1.5 years
Required Skillsets and Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in automation industries, in particular programming PLCs and HMIs
- Bachelor of Science, Engineering Degree required
- Ability to adapt to different engineering tasks such as creating test procedures, reviewing industrial networking port assignments, writing PLC code for SCADA systems, and reviewing technical documents such as drawings
- Ability to collaborate with controls engineers and technical managers
- Exposure to Studio 5000, SEL AcSELerator, Procore, ControlLogix, and SEL RTACs a plus
- Ability to write technical documents such as test procedures in English
- Industrial networking experience a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and redline electrical schematics
- Hands on experience with low voltage (480V and below) electrical applications
- Consistently takes initiative and efficiently manages schedule
- Solid problem solving skills and displays acts of resourcefulness
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
