Summary:

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The Controller is responsible for directing and leading the Company’s internal controls that adequately safeguard the Company’s gaming and non-gaming assets and ensuring all revenue is properly recorded, documented, and reported.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: Essential duties and tasks that must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Practices, supports, and maintains the Mission, Vision and Values of WarHorse Gaming, LLC.
  • Maintains short-and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement. Identifies key drivers of success.
  • Held accountable, to a very high degree, for departmental performance, and the accuracy, integrity confidentiality, and completion and compliance of departmental policies and procedures, records, and reports.
  • Monitors the preparation of daily, weekly and month-end financial reports. Reviews and approves balance sheets and financial statements.
  • Maintains organized storage of all financial documents and records. Coordinates and prepares all related records and internal controls.
  • Ensures all internal control submissions and required reports are accurate and submitted to the state gaming control boards.
  • Participates in monthly compliance meetings as part of gaming control board requirements.
  • Coordinates design and implementation of accounting-related forms, policies, and procedures.
  • Provides oversight of audits of external financial firms.
  • Conducts hiring, performance management, and employee engagement within the department. Creates a motivating environment.
  • Selects, schedules, directs, supervises, trains, and develops staff.
  • Manages multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines, often in stressful and high-pressure situations.
  • Works with safety as a priority and follows department and company safety standards.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
A satisfactory combination of applicable experience and education may be considered in lieu of experience requirements. • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting, Finance or related field from a four-year accredited college or university required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Current CPA referred.
  • Five (5) years’ finance department management experience and three (3) years’ experience in the casino gaming industry demonstrating substantial casino finance principles and practices required.
  • Proven supervisory, leadership, and coaching skills.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Accounting, Procurement and Financial Reporting systems.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of Accounting, Finance, Casino Operations, Audit and Compliance principles, best practices, procedures, and structures.
  • Experience working with federal & state government agencies and gaming regulatory boards.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite applications and financial/ accounting software with advanced skills in Excel.
