Position Summary:
In this key role, the Continuous Improvement Manager will target, organize, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across all distribution locations. A Major part of this roll will be the rollout and contained optimization of WMS across major facilities. This position will work closely with Distribution Center Managers at each site to focus efforts on operational standardization and throughput efficiency in order to ensure that Transtar is meeting and exceeding delivery expectations of our customers. In addition to managing WMS, this role will be responsible for assisting in automation initiatives and new site openings across the organization to ensure efficiency and standardization are maintained in all areas of the business. Essential Functions:

- Align projects to strategic goals
- Utilize data driven metrics and analysis to target key improvement areas and structure events driven to achieve best in class operations
- Assist with rollouts of Manhattan Based WMS across key locations
- Continuously analyze metrics from WMS to optimize warehouse flow and efficiencies.
- Analyze and propose opportunities for process improvement through automation and work with project manager to source and implement solutions
- Assist with the opening of new branches, including facility selection, racking layout and work flow design to ensure these branches are prepared for WMS implementation from startup
- Ability to lead and engage employees from a position of indirect leadership
- Training employees to take charge of their own lean initiatives
- Evaluate and re-design processes to meet/exceed customer expectations; establish and communicate service metrics; monitor and analyze results; implement changes as required
- Aids in the creation of training documents, work instructions, SOP, and standard work
- Implementation of LEAN principles to meet/exceed business and customer needs
- Creates and manages metrics surrounding area performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for maintaining and improving upon existing visual management
- Completes other assigned tasks that is requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Bachelor’s degree in related field- Value Stream Mapping capabilities required
- Minimum 5 years warehouse, distribution experience
- 2+ years exposure to world class distribution operations
- Lean and continuous improvement experience
- 5S, Kaizen, Value stream mapping, six sigma, Kanban, Gemba, PDCA & root cause analysis
- Proficient in Office Microsoft Suite, specifically in Excel, Power BI, QI Macros or Minitab a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Hands on project execution is required
- Ability to effectively manage change and the unknown; adaptable and flexible
- Excellent project management skills are a must
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills to large groups
- High energy and hands-on approach to problem solving
- Lean six sigma green belt required, black belt preferred
- 30-50% travel required (up to 70% if remote)
