Position: Safety Administrator

Job Classification: Hourly ($18-$20)

The Safety Administrator will provide assistance to the Safety Director and multiple Safety Managers across the country. This is an office-based position, where advanced computer skills are a must.
The Safety Administrator will work under direct supervision of the Safety Director. To be successful in this role, you must be detail oriented, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work efficiently and independently to meet crucial deadlines. All candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, and have a strong commitment to safety. Typical work schedule is 40 hours per week.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- This person will be responsible for assuring that all employees are up to date on training and maintaining these records.
- Ordering/Purchasing and ensuring that all Supervisors have the Safety Tools (forms, training, procedures, supplies, etc.) needed to complete every project safely.
- Maintaining and updating the job site safety files as needed
- Providing new employee orientation safety training and submission of new hire paperwork to the corporate headquarters.
- Maintain a good working relationship with project site personnel.
- Schedule trainings for crew members and supervisors.
- Maintain good communication with the Corporate Safety Director and Safety Managers regarding jobsite safety issues, safety program reviews, jobsite safety plans, and all other safety related matters.
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Adhere to strict safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor.
- Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Competencies
- Intermediate to advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint programs. Should be comfortable with basic computer functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – articulate and diplomatic manner
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Safety or Administration, preferably in the Construction Industry.
- Ability to work well and communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to speak up and address issues when identified.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with capability to meet rapid, frequent deadlines.
- Passion for change and continuous improvement in Safety processes and systems.
- Positive attitude and work ethic
- Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is a must.
Working Environment and Conditions
This position requires working indoors in an office setting.
