Position Title: Community Health Worker, Community Resiliency & Recovery Program, Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese
Location: Santa Clara County, CA
Duration: Part-time, Subcontract Position
Salary: $25 per hour
Positions will be available: Immediately

CHP is engaging community members to create and advance community-driven solutions for the COVID-19 recovery response and to prepare for emergencies. CHP is seeking Community Health Workers(CHWs) to join our Community Engagement team in conducting outreach and connecting resources/services to the community. Under guidance, CHWs will conduct outreach, education, canvassing, and engagement to meet program services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach emergency preparedness (Training will be provided)
  • Conduct outreach, such as but not limited to tabling and door knocking, to distribute materials and build awareness and connect resources to the community
  • Distribute and collect community surveys
  • Support in the implementation of focus groups
  • Assist in collecting data and information from community members impacted by the pandemic

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Vietnamese or Spanish
  • Share CHP’s community engagement values of respect, trust, integrity, compassion & empathy, collaboration, and empowerment
  • Have deep ties in your communities and use language that facilitates community engagement
  • Understand barriers that may prevent people from engaging and knows strategies in overcoming them
  • Experience conducting outreach and presentations
  • Build awareness and connect the community with resources/services
  • Familiarity with data collection
  • Basic computer skills including email and Microsoft software applications
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and on a team
  • Ability to work flexible and on-call schedules
  • Must have access to transportation and be willing to travel through Santa Clara County
  • Valid California driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and proof of liability insurance
  • Working knowledge of preparedness and resiliency, a plus (not required)
  • Familiarity with community health centers a plus

Salary:

  • This position is part-time with flexible hours of 10-20 hours a week.
