The annual salary range for this role is $65,000-$75,000 in New York.

Launched in 2021, the
Food Innovation Hubs (FIH)
global initiative has been catalyzed by the World Economic Forum and several public, private, and civil society stakeholders to strengthen innovation ecosystems for the food systems transformation. The initiative aims to drive relevant high-end and low-cost inclusive innovation that could have a scalable impact and meet the needs of food systems stakeholders.
The Food Innovation Hubs focus their efforts on the following strategic pillars where innovations can contribute to 1) Resilient and climate-smart; 2) Sustainable and healthy and 3) circular food systems. The initiative has focused on developing a global network of pace-setter Innovation Hubs in solutions for collective and multistakeholder action, especially India, Colombia, Kenya, Vietnam and Europe; with UAE and Rwanda recently joining the network. Globally, the initiative is coordinated and led by a Global Coordinating Secretariat (GCS) hosted at the World Economic Forum. The secretariat works to:
  • Strengthen the impact of the global network by developing and disseminating best practices, knowledge exchange and insights studies, and empowering and curating a global community of practice.
  • Catalyze and support country/regional innovation ecosystems in the current network and new countries.
  • Support, identify and scale solutions sets across the strategic pillars and critical enablers of change, including undertaking innovation sprints.
The GCS is supported by the Government of Netherlands and the Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), a government entity of the United Arab Emirates and is a part of the World Economic Forum’s Food Systems Initiative.
We are seeking a Community Coordinator who will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations, initiatives and communities, events, and knowledge assets of the Food Innovation Hubs and Food Systems initiative team.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
The coordinator role reports to the Lead, Regional Partnerships, Food Systems Initiative who oversees innovation hubs team at the Forum. This role will collaborate with a broad set of teams across the organization including platforms such as the
Center for Nature and Climate

Center for Fourth Industrial Revolution
,
UpLink
,
Food Action Alliance
, Global Programming Group, Hospitality, Events, Business and Government Relations; and others.
Breakdown of main responsibilities
Support implementation strategy:
  • Support the implementation of Food Innovation Hubs Global Initiative plan including coordinating activity lines, timelines and deliverables.
  • Support internal alignment and coordination across the core global team and country teams, with a view to improving efficiency, communication and workplan
Meetings and event management:
  • Support the Food Innovation Hubs & Food Systems initiative team’s participation in events and workshops, including registration and agendas as well as coordinating and communicating event logistics and delivery for both WEF and non-WEF events (e.g., COP, UN Food Systems Summit and others)
  • Contribute to the planning and coordination of key leadership meetings, with supporting background materials, content and operational support on strategy and workplan as applicable
  • Align and collaborate internally with food team, the center for nature and climate, hospitality, event operations, center for fourth industrial revolution, global programming team, business, governments, and other teams as applicable for successful delivery of key milestones and workshops
Communications, knowledge and community management
  • Provide support for the maintenance and development of key communities of practice within the Food Innovation Hubs Global Initiative, including senior leadership groups globally and regionally
  • Prepare or coordinate the preparation of Food Innovation Hubs communication documents and core knowledge products. Develop briefing materials for internal and external use
  • Act as key point of contact for internal and external constituents related to marketing materials, event program materials, and publicly facing publications
  • Work with marketing and communications teams to update marketing materials and other publicly facing assets like transformation maps regularly
  • Support in developing a media plan liaising with the internal teams (including across various hubs), the forum media team and relevant external communications stakeholders. Prepare drafts for press releases and other materials.
Programme and Operations Management:
  • Operate as the Food Innovation Hubs and Food Team’s point of contact for the management of Forum-wide internal processes, communicating changes to the team regarding new procedures and tools
  • Coordination and support for grants management with key donors of the Food Innovation Hub in terms of annual reports, event engagement and other needs.
  • Handle routine external inquiries, with a good understanding of the team’s breadth of work and point of contacts
  • For the Food Innovation Hubs, maintain internal databases, knowledge tools and team records, including onboarding processes for new team members (staff and Fellows)
  • Cultivate relationships with other Forum teams, such as the Food Systems Initiative, Center for Nature and Climate, Center for Fourth Industrial Revolution, Business and Government Relations, Global Programming, Digital and Marketing, People & Culture, and others as needed
  • Provide general administrative support to the overall Food Innovation Hubs team including planning and executing team meetings, including for the wider food team
The successful candidate will be assessed on
  • Delivery of tasks and projects assigned and/or initiated to standards of excellence and against goals
  • Collaboration with Forum colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Quality of materials development, maintenance and event support
Preferred Requirements and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, Masters Preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in coordination-related work and support in a demanding professional environment.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about food systems and innovation.
  • Exceptional written & verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with and manage expectations of senior executives and their staff with confidence
  • Excellent degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel). Salesforce/CRM experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
  • Responsible, independent, and self-driven with a strong work ethic
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational, project and time management skills
  • High level of attention to detail & a flexible team player
  • Must have strong motivation and enthusiasm for the Forum’s mission
  • Knowledge of additional language(s), outside of English, a plus
