Commercial Litigation Attorney Job at Johnston Clem Gifford
Johnston Clem Gifford seeks a commercial litigation associate with 2–5 years of experience. We offer interesting, complex work and career advancement and transparent expectations for balancing the work, the clients, and home life.
Our lawyers—from associate to counsel to partner—are active participants in client teams. We prepare presentations, meet key executives and legal officers, develop transactional or litigation strategies, research legal developments, depose witnesses, and prepare for trials and arbitrations. The right candidate will participate at all levels and in case activities along side seasoned lawyers.
Qualifications:
- The candidate should have experience with complex commercial litigation. Experience in any of the firm’s core focus areas would be a plus; including financial services, corporate plaintiff litigation, and corporate services.
- Experience in substantive legal areas is another plus: antitrust, class action, multidistrict litigation, breach of fiduciary duty, qui tam, environmental, bankruptcy, conspiracy, TCPA litigation, and business torts.
- Excellent academic credentials
- Strong writing and research abilities
- Must have clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Must be interested in developing meticulous, high-quality work product.
- Must want to participate in client development opportunities is needed
- Must have a commitment to urgency, collaboration, curiosity, technology, and excellent advocacy.
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of legal experience
- Must be admitted to practice in Texas, be active, in good standing, and up to date with current CLE requirements
